How to train a cat?

I have a pet cat at home named skittles. I like to play with it a lot specially at times when I am bored and stressed out. But I have just one problem with skittles. It does not know how to use a litter box and I cannot teach it even though I've already exerted so much effort, the result is still the same. I also want to train my cat and teach skittles some tricks. Do you have any tips in training animals? Thanks in advance!

How old is Skittles? Was he originally an outdoor cat? Or is Skittles a kitten? Our Stormy was an older kitten when we took him in from outside. We initially kept him in the half bathroom with his food and litter box until he got comfortable here and with us.
Keep enough litter boxes around. Cats like to dig and bury their waste. Make sure it's scooped or cleaned often. Cats will go where they've "gone" previously. Make sure you clean up any cat urine around the house with a mixture of vinegar and water to get rid of the smell entirely. Watch where Skittles "goes" and place a litter box there. As the previous person wrote, try to catch Skittles when he is about to go and put him in the litter box. You could also just place him in there when he doesn't have to go and take his paw and make scooping motions, or digging motions with it till he gets the idea. Take the cat to a vet and make sure there is nothing physically wrong. Get Skittles spayed or neutered, depending on male or female. And always make sure there is plenty of fresh water to drink.

Hello friend,
Cat is my favorite pet. I love cats very much. I have two cats in my house. They are so sweet and cute. I trained them fighting with each other. It is a good process to having a strong cat in future. For other quires you read the animal training book.
Have a nice day.
