Is it cool to hit on/talk to girls you dont know at the gym? / myLot

Whenever I go to the gym, there's always a few really gorgeous girls that I see regularly. I have never really talked to a girl I didn't know at the gym, just because you hear about it and see it happen and it just looks straight up creepy. But, is it cool just to make random conversation? Is it acceptable to get to know someone without it being weird like that or is it straight taboo?

Sure, it's acceptable as long as you can take a hint when they don't want to be bothered. Don't get too excited though. Chances are pretty high that everyone has already tried with the hot girls, so they're gonna have their defences up.

I think you are right on the money. and to clarify its not like I have any sort of expectations upon meeting a girl or am going to get her digits. I just want to break the ice and have small talk conversations from time to time instead of always being semi-conscious of a good looking girl in the room like all of us men do.

Everyday my husband goes to the Gym and everyday he speaks with new people there and always find something interesting. So, I don't think talking to stranger at gym is something weird in fact that what most people do at gym and how they become friends.

yeah I notice that too, now thinking about it. I have had plenty of conversations with people there, just never the people I'd want to talk to the most. thanks for the reply!

I dont think there is anything wrong with talking to girls at the gym. I mean if you just meet them the first time and try to get their number chances are they will get annoyed but if you happen to see them there all the time and talk a little each time it could be a nice way to meet someone. I would rather meet a guy at a gym then at a bar or somewhere like that. At least a gym is a respectable place.

If you start out with small talk and don't seem too desperate or too pushy, it's not creeapy... well it depends on the girl, too. But if you don't try, you'll never know.
