I have tried ant spray, Terro, cinnamon, cinnamon spray, and a whole host of other things, and these little guys just wont GO AWAY!!! I am at my wits end here my myLot friends, and I really need to know what in the world, if anything, can get rid of these pests, for GOOD!!! I really dont like picking up my morning coffee to take a drink and notice that ants have beat me to it. Help!!!!!

Hmmm... there are actually natural ways to get away with these ants. First and most importantly, you may need to clean your place. Having a clean premises helps lessen the spread of these pests. You can spread some salt where they are commonly found or pass. You can also use chalk (yes, the chalk usually used in school), and cause it written where they usually pass too. Hope this help :D

Hello kylegwapo. Neat user name, btw. (My gf from the Philippines calls me gwapo ) Anyway, I have never heard of using salt against them, but I will try it. And chalk, that is very interesting. Thank you for your help, and I hope that you have a great day in the Phils.

Ants are observed to maintain a kind of peaceful and orderly life worthy of copying in many contexts. Apart from being pests that are unwelcome in the household, the nature of living has a quite a lot to offer for learning by humans. The cooperation ,the hard joint labor potential, storing up food resources for posterity...all these and many more form part of their excellent social life set up. It is mind filling watching the steady march of the ants to their chosen destination in quite an order and discipline. The ants are ingenious in getting over difficulties too. All in all they have a clean and perfect social order worthy of appreciation.

Yes, I do tend to watch how orderly they are, just like bees. I just wish us as humans were as inclined to be thus minded. I just wish they could do their orderly life somewhere else, so I can have some peace. Thanks for your response, and have a great day.

Terro has worked wonders for us! I know a family that is having really awful issues with ants right now. They've had them for months and finally the Terro traps are saving the day. The problem has gotten better just in the past few days. It may take some time but these "traps" poison the ants and they take it back to the rest and it should kill them all off. I've used them before and have had it take days to resolve the problem but have also used them and had it take months. You just never know but I really do swear by these traps. Check them out. They should sell them at any local store that sells ant bait n such! Good Luck!

Hello, Jennlk84. Yes, I thought the same thing because the Terro worked for a short while. Then, they were back, and I asked the department store if it was normal and they said, "well, you'll never fully get rid of them." I thought I would use cinnamon like my mother said on the phone a few weeks ago, and then a cinnamon spray, but they just kept coming. I will try Terro again, and maybe it will work this time. Who knows. Thanks for your response...

That is a big problem indeed- we have an an problem too especially since it's summer they are all so busy gathering food. We just spray some insecticide and it works- but then you can never kill all of them..you should just never leave your food.. or you can try that thing that they plug- it electric or something.

That is exactly what the department store guy told me, stanly777. Yes, I never leave food out because I think it is just not clean, and I am a clean freak. I sometimes wipe the floor down by hand, just because I hate that sticky floor feeling. Anyway, thanks for your response, and have a great day...

tsk tsk.. same problem here at home for 3 weeks now. My mother came to our house for a visit, and saw them, and she sprayed it with insect repellent, and I haven't seen them tonight. I never thought of doing that, but it worked.

Yes, I have been doing what those on the site have suggested. Nothing so far but I will wait. But I have used it as well, and they just seem to find other places to come in... But, I will eventually get rid of them. Thank you for your response. Have a great day.

oi codymac find the trail where the ants are coming in and sprinkle borax powder there and all along the trail where they are now, they hate the stuff for some reason so use it liberally wherever they seem to get in at as the stuff does work.No ants in one's coffee cup is really scary and imagine one getting in your mouth and biting youtheir bites really

I sit to bid on work and all of a sudden...OUCH!!! hehe. anyway, thank you for the information, and I hope that you have a great day...

ants rally annoying especially when they go to your food or drinks, and you can see them everywhere especially in the kitchen because they always looking for food to take,so the best way that i did was to spray malathion chemical because they can kill many of ants.

That is correct, asliah. I like ants, but not when they are in your food, in your pantry, and everywhere else, just taking over the place. I can stand them outside just minding their own lives but not when they want to try and run mine. lol Thanks for the response.
