Many people will say that we are Christian, we are not atheist because we believe in God. Well, if you believe in God, are you living a life that there is a God? Most people are relying on their religion to save them from the upcoming judgment. Well, you are wrong. No matter what your religion is, if you have Jesus in your heart you can be sure that you have a mansion in heaven. You can never see in the BIBLE that your religion can save you. The Bible is all about Jesus who died on the cross to pay our sins. If our religion can save us, Jesus will no longer come here on earth to died on the cross if our own goodness can save us.
Do not trust your religion. Believe in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved and thine house. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth on him should not perish but have everlasting life.He that believeth is not condemned but that believeth not is condemned already.

I'm not an atheist but my religion doesn't have a God to begin with. (My religion says that Heaven and Hell exist when we are still living on Earth and not the afterlife)
You can't do anything to change the Christian's mind because their stubborn when it comes to religion (Most people are stubborn when it comes to religion).
Just let them do what they want because it's not worth wasting your time trying to convince them.

I think this has drifted over into another case of "it's hard to convince them".. it's true that it's hard to un-convince anyone of what they strongly believe and, or have been taught.. and it's all belief/religion.. I first found God through study and meditation.. so full so peaceful, then I learned that was the Father and soon afterward 'met' the Son and started reading and studying the bible.. that was 30+ years ago and my socks are still knocked off!
- I later studied the theory of evolution and found all the holes in it (the ones teachers are not allowed to bring up lest they lose their job!) And mostly I found out once someone knows God and, or his Son (the open door, healed breach to the father) it's very hard to convince them that he doesn't exist!
Many blessings! :)

I have a clue for you. When God saved Noah, it was thru an Ark. God told Noah to build and so he built it literally. In this time now that God plans to cleanse the world thru Hunger, Disease and War, He will spare his people thru a Holy Place from which God told the people find it based on the bible. There is a place and there is no way you can go there if you are not a follower.

Well, I don't know where you coming from but by reading my initial comment above, I never expressed to be as an unbeliever as you seem putting in your comment.
In terms of Holy place, reflects on heaven or kingdom of God but not churches!
Churches, even none christians go there but few are getting save!

If the Bible , especially the Old Testament , is to be discarded Then I don't want to go to Heaven. If All my good deeds are meaningless because Jesus isn't in my geart , then I rather not go. If the Only way is through Jesus , Then I am not Suppose to go! There are many paths to g-d , Jesus is just one.

I am a spiritual persona, but I tell you one thing im sure of... The HELL is over here. Right here and right now and it is upon us to save ourselves. We, the ordinary people, are becoming slaves of the MAFIA that governs the world and their money. And they squeze us more and more. Every one of us is afraid of not being able to pay the rent, pay the taxes and becoming homeless. But it is slowly time to take matters into our own hands and make sure the financial leaders, bankers and entepreneurs, company owners, government officials and other MAFIA pawns get afraid. Afraid of not paying their employees. Afraid of scaming and stealing from the masses. It is time to fight back!

@ Crossbones - Awesome buddy !!
From now on you are my hero dude cause thats a wonderful answer. (I don't know if u r a dude or dive so sorry beforehand.. haha :P)
Religion was formed to keep the masses in line. How do you keep such a huge population disciplined and away from cutting each other's throat ?
Wait a sec !! I know it.. I'll seed deep down in their hearts the fear of an omnipotent, self-sustaining almighty and righteous being who is watching them each and every second of their life what they are doing or even intend to do, and form an institution thats embraces that fear further, time to time. But wait a sec.. I'll first need to form a story about the whole thing for those bunch of baboons to believe me.
Tadaaaa !! Problem solved.

I know, isn't it funny how convenient religion is? You can do as much messed up stuff as you want, then ask for forgiveness, and then you are cleansed of all wrong doing. Then you can go back to doing what you were before, because all you have to do is ask for God's forgiveness, and you will be back in the good graces of the Lord.
Then again that is why so many people are religious, because they think if there was no religion that man as a whole would go off the deep end, and the whole world would fall into anarchy. The problem is people are just bad because it is in their DNA and that is what it took for us to survive to get to this this point. For better or worse. The only way to lead a positive life is to keep improving ourselves.
If people really want to find God, take a little trip by yourself to some place where there is wilderness with a lot of scenery and wild life. If you are one of those people that can't handle being by yourself take your dog. Plus he can alert you just in case the wild life tries to get to close. The reason you go by yourself is because if you bring some one they will take away from the overall experience. Just sit back be quiet and watch. That is the only God I know of. She is called Mother Nature.

I totally agree. And whats worse nobody is obeying it anyways today. But they somehow keep us from uniting and overthrowing the system anyways. The system is so bad, that it must be dealt with from the bottom up, completely!!! I say start with the banking institutions, cause they are totally corrupt! And then on and on and on! Plus speaking about religion... How about the scandal when Vatican bank was funnelin money for the MAFIA?? Funny aint it?

If you are an Atheist, then you don't believe in Heaven or Hell or God. You really don't believe in anything.
Heaven and Hell are constructs, concepts, theories, and some people do not believe in Heaven or Hell. How can you go to a place that you don't believe in? Think about it. If you don't believe that it exist, then it kind of makes it hard to go there.
Some people believe that Heaven and Hell are already on Earth, and that you are already in the Hell that you are in if you are unhappy with your life.
You should really take Psychology or Philosophy of Religion or look into the topic because that will really open up your perspective on how different religions and people operate when it comes to the belief in Heaven and Hell. It varies from religion to religion and culture to culture.

Hello bessyjanmayi.
Religion is important. Roman Catholic, Jehovah's witness, Iglesia ni Cristo, Seventh Day Adventist, a lot others. This is going to be a long conversation I suppose. Hmmnn.. Let me start from point to point.
John 3:16 is really a great Bible verse however we need to define each word we can find. As it says, "Por que de tal manera amo Dios al mundo queha dado asujiho unihinito para que todo a quel cree no seprierda mastinga vida eterna". I did memorize the Spanish translation. I just want to point out a very important word in that verse; "...that whosoever believeth on him should not perish."
believe as what? believe as Jesus Christ exists? or literally believe as such that something is believed to be true or not?
That word could be very misleading of you just define it the way I did above. Believing doesn't only mean perceiving. There is so much laws written in the bible that each religious sect seemed to have differences in terms of interpretation. And take note, all of this laws should be obeyed and for each religion, the obedience is distinct. For instance, Leviticos 11:8 says we should not eat unclean flesh such as Pork. This is no longer applied in Catholic and in all other religions.

Each religion teaches differently and so affects our salvation. If your Pastor does not tell, follow this, do not do that, this is the right way. Then you are surely in a different religion. Salvation is a treasure hunt. The trails to it is all found in the Bible. And since each teaching is different from the other religions, be sure to find the right one. Finding it not thru your own judgement but still based on the Bible. There is a hundred of thousands of religions on Earth but there is only one Church that glorifies God since only one Church have followed what was written. Understand the bible in the most basic way. Basic English grammar. Basic prepositions. Everything basic. Do not confuse too much on what they say very complicated verses.

sometimes alot of people get confused with man tradtions and things done man's way. the main thing is search the scribtures and pray for the knowledge as seeking the first the kingdom the rest will follow. to believe one must seek and learn and ask God for guideness and sometimes He will send someone to you. alot make mistakes by not asking God First and they ask man, and man made ways. the battle is not flesh and blood but a spirtuial battle. and Jesus said you would know the right ways for they will speak of Him. Jesus first in Word and Deed.

We want to live in a society where we will not be discriminated or prejudiced for our lack of religious dogma, where in a job interview, we can honestly say that we're atheists or agnostics without fear of being passed over in favor of a more religious candidate, and most importantly, where our lack of religion WILL NOT be taken as a lack of moral standards.
I am an atheist, and since I don't believe in any gods and/or deities, I also do not believe in heaven and/or hell.

I am a Christian and I do believe that religion cannot save you from hell. There is only one thing that can save you from hell, and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Whatever religion you belong as long as you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, you will be saved.

Are you an Atheist? Can religion save you from Hell?
Not sure how your question is actually related to your post
This is just another post by someone who is ignorant to what an Atheist is
There are many branches of Atheism covering everything.
Atheism is a general term to describe one that does not believe in a diety - That is a God.
How ignorant of me would it to think that a Christian is just the same as a Muslim?
Are a Jew has the same religious beliefs as a Sikh?
I am an Atheist and I would say I am more of a Naturalistic Humanist.
As I don't believe in a GOD, then how can I believe in a Hell?
If I don't believe in a Hell, why should I care?

I agree with you, do not trust your religion.
I'm an atheist, and it's pretty obvious to me, that there is no Hell, nor is there a heaven, nor is there some spiritual being watching over everything. With all the different possibilities of how universes, galaxies, planets and life form, a place like earth is bound to exist, without any need for any creator. If you delve your entire life into following the ways of your religion, then you are really living for nothing at all.
Right now is the only time you're going to have, so make the most out of it! Help the other people around you, and the generations to come, and live your life to the fullest!

Hi bess,
An Atheist does not believe in the spirit world, there's no heaven nor hell, only the material world exist governed by dialectics (contradiction of material elements).
It is a scientific view of the world, of logical processes, phenomena and the way they interact with people and society.
One reason they adopt this view is the familiar method of the spiritual leaders in hoodwinking the gullible to their own advantage, quite rampant in the history of most religious movements. If Jesus were alive today, he would have been summarily executed and would be willing to do so for that sake.
I am a practicing Roman Catholic but I don't close my eyes to the gloom that enveloped its dark history, rather, I use the light of scientific knowledge to avoid the pitfalls that beset its crooked path.

I gave up being an "atheist " sometimes in highschool.Back then i had a math teacher, she was a christian and she told me that believing in God and particularly in the Christian God is the most logical answer to someone`s questions ( to tell you the truth i thought this is BS back then ).But once i started to ask myself some real questions i found no answers outside religion and so far i found the best answers in Christianity.
So i believe we have been created and i believe in the Christian God but unfortunately for me that alone won`t save me from hell,I need a miracle for that.

I would like to believe that there is justice over there and people won't get rewarded only because of their privileges. I mean that many religious people try to convince others that their path is the only true path, but they don't even follow what the teachings of their religions say. While there are atheists whose life is full of love and tolerance - the only reason they won't get into heaven would be that they don't belong to a religious group?
