When are the better days coming?

There is always a point in our life that we feel so down. And then the morrow comes and life is better. All it needs is a little positivity, they say.
But then, there are those times when you feel like you're drowning. You desperately want to get out of that rut, but a lot of challenges are thrown your way, and you feel that you can't even come up for air anymore. It's like being in a very long, dark tunnel. You wait and wait for that "light at the end of the tunnel". But it's not there.

I agree that having a positive attitude helps our situation. But if it were easy to have a positive attitude the majority of the time most of us wouldn't be having such a hard time in the first place. I have felt exactly as you described. And sometimes I wonder if I'm ever going to get out of that rut. When things are that hard and difficult for me I try to take things one day at a time. I try to go out for example to the park and really think about what is important to me and the things I want to accomplish in my life. I know that difficult times are still ahead of me, so I have to do the best I can. Doing this keeps me from making rash decisions. I hope that your situation starts to look up for you, because I know how awful it can feel not being able to see any positive aspect of what we are going through.

Thanks. It's hard considering that during these times, I am emotionally drained. I agree that taking things one day at a time can help ease the burden. Sometimes, though, I cannot help but be overwhelmed by all these things that are happening. I wish though, that I things will be better, at least the next half of the year. The first half is a very challenging one for me.

Yeah experiencing a lot of stress and hard times really does zap our energy. I too hope that the next half of the year will be better for you. I hope that you are able to do things during this hard time that uplift you and help you to cope with all that is going on in your life. Perhaps spend time with family and friends. Hangout with your best friend and just relax. Doing these things can make time go faster for you. Keep yourself busy that helps too.

Thanks. I do those and a lot more. And, I'm glad that things seem to be getting better. Well, April was a better month. Still some problems but, at least I'm not as emotionally drained as before.

Yeah. Life is full of ups and downs. One should have a positive view of life, not to be so happy when top and not so sad when down.In the way of achieving one's goal, one should work hard and don't be discouraged when meeting with difficulties. We should do what we ought to do and pray to God to help us in what we can't and God will help us . Thank God .HE is our kind father. HE will help his children.

That is right. Sometimes I forget that. I will unburden these things and let God take control. Maybe this is one big life lesson in progress.

@ryanong: yes, you could ask God for help. All we need is ask, and He answers one way or another.

some take a longer time to come, but hey... better days... they always do come.
as much as i would like to channel my positive attitude in every single time that i feel down, i have to be honest that it can be exhausting at times. draining even.
sometimes challenges, like quicksand, the more you kick out of it... the more you dig yourself in deeper. and if you don't do anything about it... you'll still sink yourself in. ohh well.
literally and figuratively speaking... i hate the dark. i hate being in the dark. i hate being enveloped in darkness or falling into one.
i have learned my lesson a long time ago... that if i want myself out of the dark, i should always carry with me a light of some sort. something i could hold on to when i'm about to give up. something that would lift me up when i'm down. something that would help me get thru all those hurdles life may throw at me.
i hope you find yours.
when i was in so much pain, i wanted to give up right there and then. it was an easier route. but something snapped me out of a looming darkness, woke me up from the nightmares. and then there was hope. and then the realization that there really are better days. we just have to have the strength to hold on until it comes, because it will. it's there.
cheer up...

rest. breathe.
we need to get back enough strength to overcome this phase. and it is just a phase. and yes it's a brand new month... with a brand new hope that things will get better than the previous month/s had been.
either you really need a good laugh over something silly or you need a very hard cry. and after the storm, there's a calm that follows.

I've been crying hard for a long time now. And I'm almost numb from that crying. But, I hope that the new month will bring something fresh for me. Thanks.

Unlike you, I like to be in the dark (literally) sometimes. It gives me calm and helps me think (Well, of course I mean dark in my room. In strange places, it's creepy). Sometimes when I'm overwhelmed, I just sit silently in the dark and things will feel better.
But, figuratively, this year has been a long, dark tunnel and I've been waiting and waiting for that light (for relief) but, I'm still waiting. I am the kind who can get back up when I'm down. It's just that this year, I've been down for a long time now and everytime I get back up, I get boxed down again. I am now emotionally drained. But, it's a new month, and April was kinder to me than January, or February, or March. I got to breathe a little (just a little because I still had to deal with a lot of problems, or maybe I was just numb last April because like I said I was emotionally drained.) I hope things will really be better from now henceforth. I know that life will always be an up-down struggle, but, I hope that this 2012 first quarter would be the worst and that I'll never see something like it again.

I honestly believe that the only time that the light at the end of the tunnel isn't there is when you don't have a positive outlook on things. Right now I am going through one of the toughest times in my life for a lot of different reasons, but I still know that there are better times that are coming. We are going to be out of debt before too long and I've pretty much helped my husband through the worst of the withdrawal from pain medication, so things are getting better, though we don't see the improvement as quickly as we'd like to.

It's good to hear that your finances and your husband's condition is improving, slowly yes, but, at least there's an improvement. I guess that like you, I should just plough on ahead until things become better. One day, I just might be surprised that all the bad things are over.

Well, it is what i feel now also. I really don't know when is my better day coming. sadness, worry, sorrow is all my mood now. I feel it is just all grey in front of my eyes. Waiting, waiting makes me tired. I just wish time is gone faster, night is gone faster...and hope tomorrow is my nice day, but no, today is still my bad day, i am not sure tomorrow will be nice day. Why i am so tired with my life like this time.

I guess we're in the same boat. But, we just have to wait and hope for that day when things are better. I like the advice of one friend above, that is to live one day at a time. I'm also tired, but, I still hope that tomorrow will be a better one.

I hope tomorrow is a better day for all of us. But, maybe let's start by having a good night's rest. I noticed that it's easier for me to get emotionally drained during days that I lack sleep, like when there are so many things to do at the office that sleep is sacrificed. It adds to the stress in the job. I wish for the best for you.

It"s is always difficult to rise on your feet and move on with your life. Every morning of every day is difficult, but then again, this is the only way to have a decent lifestyle. We must always remember to be brave. Living a life as a coward is not worth living at all !!

That is right. And, the thing to do is to wake up in the morning, rise and face the day. There were times beforet that I could not even get out of bed and would just call in sick at work. I am glad I am over those days. I think it made the situation worse than it really is.

It may be a recession but it can't take away the sunshine, the fresh air and seeing the wildlife. It gives me much joy to see a swan swimming on the river or a blackbird having a bath in a puddle. I like to feel the warm sun on my back when it happens. If sad I recommend a day out to somewhere relaxing or interesting. Like it could be to a beach, park or museum for example. I like to tidy and clean my bungalow to feel I have had a successful time. I enjoy taking my dogs out for a walk. Having a trip overseas is my top hobby. Good luck feeling better days to come.

It's not even the recession that is the most pressing problem I have today (although, it's the one constant problem I have making all my other problems worse), but you're right, there are so much things that can be done to relax one's self a bit. I would do that, just so I cannot overburden my self, but, sometimes even a walk is no longer pleasant because I can't help but think about everything that's bothering me.

yeah..sometimes I feel that too..it's like you get harder to breath and you're slowly drowning to the different types of problems you are going through..but in the end you will realize that prayer is the most powerful thing you can do..you will see that God is bigger than our problems..all we need to do is have a little faith!:)

Thanks. You're right. There is no problem bigger than Him. I should cling on to His promise. Maybe I just need to be patient. This is all one big life lesson in progress.
