I am about to begin college soon. The trouble is I do not have alot of money, and I do not have family to help me. How do people survive and support themselves with enough time to study?

I tried this before and I don't know but I never was able to make it. I only worked because I liked having the extra money. But I couldn't keep up with my schoolwork since I was a nursing student back then. But if you have real need of money, yourmotivation would probably be different. I have an subordinate who is a full-load working student. We were able to fix his schedule around school time (being in the call center industry, it's not hard to do), and he would go to school during the day and take calls at night. We fixed his schdule in such a way that he reports straight to work after getting off school. then he goes home and gets rest for an average of five to six hours a day. I'm pretty proud of him because he's going to graduate with a degree from Psychology in a year. Of course quality of work would slide down sometimes especially when he had exams, but overall, he was able to maintain perfect attendance at work and school. It can be done, and if you really want it to work, it will work. :) Wish you luck!

Well they get a job of course, then save as much money as they can with out eating out and living on campus or with friends. A lot of college students these days use welfare or else they would starve with no food. That is why a lot of students that do go to college and know they won't have help from family will start working and go only part time to school.

For most people like you, the best way to win money while at the college is to get a job and try to manage those two things correctly. You could get a part-time job at a café or restaurant, and you'll still have enough time to study if you manage your time right. But that won't be easy, you'll feel exhausted after a few weeks and barely have any time to be with your friends or have some fun, but that all depends on your strenght of will ;)
