Delhi crushed Mumbai by 37 runs at Feroze Shah Kotla stadium. Batting first they set an imposing total of 207. Then they picked up three Mumbai batsmen pretty cheaply. Then Mumbai fought back through Kartik and Rayudu. But once these two were dismissed, the fight went out of Mumbai and they ended at 170 in the end. With this win Delhi consolidate their position on the top and look good for a playoff position.
Cheers!

It was a great game and the Delhi Daredevils are having a good run in IPL 5 and in the history of the IPL I have seen for the first time that Delhi is playing so well and this has happened because they changed the whole side from the first season. The inclusion of peiterson,Jayawardene and morkel has made them a good side.To top it all sehwag is now back in form also and they are looking as the team which is going to win the title this year. The Delhi team is playing in the same way as the Mumbai Indians were playing in the last year.
The mumbai Indians have not played to the expectations this year and so on are loosing games continuously and so in this match they lost the wicket of karthik and then it was all over for the team and they lost by such big margin.Mumbai Indians do have a good batting lineup but no one is showing consistency as pieterson and jayawardena is showing for Delhi Daredevils. This is why they are able to post such big totals and win so many matches.Delhi had won 6 out of 8 matches and if they go in the same way then they are going to make it to the Semis.

I think with 2 more wins Delhi will probably stay at no.1 position in the league stage.
Mumbai Indians did try hard chasing down the target, if the score was around 180, they had a chance of chasing it but 206 was little higher.
Now the IPL has turned more interesting, let's see how this ends up ...

They already chalked up another win beating Rajasthan Royals by 1 run in a thriller today. I think they will top the league table. But IPL is not about topping the league table, there are knockout matches to follow. Delhi would be painfully aware that they topped the league in season 1 as well only to lose in the semis!!
Cheers!

Hi Ram,
Delhi Daredevils seem to be a dominating team. They can be defeated if their top order batsmen fail. The opposition bowlers need to find a way to dismiss their top order so they could restrict them to a total of less than 160.It is the only way to dismiss the Delhi team.If you fail to dismiss them, then they will dominate you. That's what happened in Yesterday's match.Mumbai failed to take wickets at regular intervals.Shewag and Mahela laid the platform which was well carried out by Taylor and Pietersen.Only Malinga was successful with the ball while the other Mumbai bowlers were leaking runs.Mumbai began their batting with a early wicket in the first over which was continued by Rohit's aggression.Sachin and Rohit failed to put runs on the board.Ambati Rayadu and Karthick fought hard but still they couldn't get their job done.Pollard looked hopeful but when he was dismisses it became claer that Delhi would win the match.Delhi will make it to the playoff position.

Yes, you are right. The trouble is that their top order is in such form, that no one is able to dismiss them. One day Sehwag wins the match, another day Peterson wins the match or Jayawardhane comes to the party. I actually think their weakness is their bowling. If Morne Morkel is injured then this team will suffer.
Cheers!

Delhi Daredevilsis at it best with top order batsman performing well, surpassing the score of 200. In the encounter with high profile, tournament favourite Mumbai Daredevils three of the batsmen score quick fifty to post a huge target for mighty Mumbai. Mahela Jayawardene and Virender Sehwag started the innings at the openining which is further carried out by Shewag and was fiinished in style by Centurion for Delhi this year, Kevin Pietersen. Mumbai’s bowlers have no answer to this they were just watching the ball pass to boundary or fly over it. Even the Mumbai’s hot bowler for T20 game, Latish Malgina was not able to stop them. The trio made it possible a score of 207/5.
In reply to the massive target, Mumbai openers’s failed cheaply with Tendulkar just able to score 7. Even Mumbai were at crucail statge with all over to them, at 19 for 3 in the fourth over. Ambati Rayudu and Dinesh Karthik Rescure Mumbai with thier powers shots. Thye constructed the inning to keep the chase on. They hold the partnership of 96 in that process. But it seems day was not meant for Mumbai, Delhhi’s bowles keep their nerves and bowled perfectly. Shahbaz Nadeem get rid off both Ambati Rayudu and Kieron Pollard off his successive deliveries. Rest was just formality for Mumbai.

Yes. sewag and jayawardane gave DD a great start. Sewag is really back in to his real form. When he is in form, then he is really dangerous than any body else. Mallinga cant help Mumbai to restrict DD to a small score.
Now, in this IPL, DD is the most consistent team with good batting performance from sewag and peterson and great bowling from morkel.

Delhi appears to be the strongest team in I.P.L. this year and seems destined to run away with top spot. With Sehwag at top form perhaps the form of his life, this is but expected. No bowler can stop him when he is in this awesome form and with Jayawardene and pietersen by his side their running away with the matches was always on the card. Barring some last minute hiccups I feel D.D will emerge I.P.L. champs this year.
