after work i always fix hubby's lunch before he leaves for his job.. today i went out on a limb and just fixed what i thought he would like, usualy i ask him waht he wants as he is very picky, but today he was well pleased :) and lunch was great....
i warmed up the left over stewed tomatoes, made mac n cheese, boiled eggs, 4 cheese mash potaotes, and my famous stuffed pepper with mozz cheese.. everything turned out great, infact i had too much and i was stuffed like the pepper lol so i put the rest of my plate left overs in the microwave for tonights supper , yum cant wait
i love left overs .. and will have great food and dont even have to cook again :)
for the night...

It is a great compliment to be appreciated and to be admired with ones' work what a great relief of sigh I would say.It is an act of gratitude to the one saying it and I would say its a great job on your part. What a marvelous act to boast to your husband perhaps an advantage and a sense of pride on your part also. What an addition of bond to ones relationship I would say to an exemplary effort that you exerted.

After some quick and easy to fix is the best. My grandson loves tomatoes. He is pretty picky too. I like potatoes fixed any way. I bet your stuffed peppers were good. Mozzarello cheese ontop sounds good. They were showing on Marthat Stewart this last week how to fix quick chicken dinners. They all sounds good.

I sometimes watch Dr. Phil when he is on at 3a. or so. Usually about something boring though so I pass it by. I bet your mom will enjoy the peppers. My grandson loves tomatos. I like a nice sweet one or cherry or pear ones. Yum! The little ones.

Actually, I've offered many times to make lunch for my husband at work, but he never seems to want to take anything with him, so I don't even bother with it because of the fact that I hate to make food that is going to be wasted.
With that said, I do like leftovers a whole lot because it does save some time in the long run. In addition to that, there are some things that you can cook that taste a lot better the day after they are made than on the day that they are made.

Mmmmmm, that sounds great - what a lucky hubby!! I don't have a chance to make hubby's lunch too often these days . . . but he appreciates it when I do! He's just so spoiled by his company providing a catered lunch like 3 times a week - so not fair - hee hee! Yah, leftovers are great, especially when you have enough for another meal . . . oh, sooooooooo love it when all I have to do is heat them up for dinner!!

his supper he gets lots of great food he has done this for almost 10 years , :)
it helps me not to have to pack his lunch and it saves us a bundle as well we dont have to buy any food for his supper.. and bonus lol waht he dont eat he brings home to me . :) he brings like a ton of stuff and hubby cant eat it all.. so
i get lucky lol.. its so nice to have good people like that in your life..

Hee hee - yes the money saving factor helps! Hubby tells me there are always tons of leftovers from the catered lunches and he realized others were eating the leftovers from the fridge the next day (when it wasn't a catered day). He's only worked there for a few months - and at first he felt weird about grabbing work leftovers - but not anymore - hee hee. How nice you get dinner meals though!! I'd say the most money and time goes into dinner, so you're saving a lot!

I think it's great that your husband is grateful for the things that you do for him, and I believe that showing that you appreciate something is very important in any relationship. I would clean our flat and cook all of the time when I was living with my partner, however, he never said thank you and never made the effort to do anything himself, so I soon came to the conclusion that I wasn't going to carry on doing it unless he started appreciating me. I told him why I had stopped doing these things, and he then realised what happened when I didn't do them, so things are a lot better now.

im glad you was able to communitcate with your partner about that important issue and glad things are somewhat better.. i think it is very important for both people in the relationship to be able to say thank you and tell there partner how much they appreciate them for the things they do in the relationship... i love getting compliments from my hubby .. who dont hand them out often lol but i too need to work on thanking him for waht he does and how hard he works as well.. i think a good kind word of appreciation goes a long way.. :)

That's sound yummy, I love cheesed mashed potatoes and stuffed pepper.I usually have that for my dinner, a simple and light meal for supper. I won't wait longer for the food to be subsided.
You did a great job. Your hubby would surely get himself rushing home to have another satisfying meal.
Enjoy!!

thanks that means alot as well.. i think it was last week he told me i was getting really good on my homemade gravy.. its the one thing he cant make ha ha i learned that from mom and it is very tasty and so easy to make just like the pepper could not be easier and you can put whatever your spices you like , i use hamburger, fried with cut up green pepper, and onion, and oregano , black pepper and salt and i use galic minced in the jar.. then i cook instant brown rice and i add a can lf tomato soup to my hamburger mixture of course i drain the grease off first then add the tomato soup then add the cooked rice, then i cut my pepper top off and scoop out the inside and then i place foil in a casserole dish i preheat oven to 400 and stuff the pepper then put them usualy 2 in the foil upright .. then i bake for 60 minutes and thenget them out and cut them down the middle and add mozzeralla cheese ontop and microwave until melted.. you can use a pound of hamburger and you will have some mixture left over save and make another pepper tomorrow or next day.. just stuff and bake so easy.. and good.. yum..

Hi laken02, reading your post made me hungry. And by the sounds of it, seems like you have actually did a great job. No wonder your husband seems happy and commended you. Having people appreciate your hard work for them never fail to make me happy as well.
I also love left overs. There are hundreds of things you can do with your left overs, all you need is just a little imagination and creativity. Dealing with left overs can saves you a lot of money which is always a good thing.

sometimes i will make hubby's lunch (he is picky too!) but more often than not, he makes his own. my daughter has been throwing out her sandwich (she is 18) so i said forget it, you are making your own lunch! and my 15 year old makes her own.
i also like leftovers. my hubby will take them for lunch once in awhile, like when i make a big pot of chili.

yum chilli sounds good.. me and hubby like it different ways lol i like it with lots of beans and spicey hot, and lots of pepper.. he likes his with mild spice and he wants to put sphagetti noodles in it.. yuck i hate it that way...
i also like to freeze and reheat my chilli to have it on hand to eat when i want. works great.. i use left over sour cream cups with lids to freeze it in...
take care, have a good weekend..

Good job
I know it's a pleasure when our partner appreciate our cooking.
Even with our loved ones, when they're satisfied with our cooking- we felt like in "heaven" :)
I also pre-heat left overs and never waste any food that are still consumable.
It also saves me time and at the same time- teaches my kids not to waste food at all.

yeah i di the same i save everything i can it helps all around by saving money and time.. i like to save all my sour cream containers with lids and cool whip tubs so that i can put left overs in then and have lids.. no spill, lol and i labe them what they are and date them.. i also found a great place to store all my containers like that.. in my unused dish washer.. lol its full of plastic containers with lids.. it works but i dont use it, im the dish washer here lol

Nothing beats the compliments of our loved ones. I also love hearing my husband tell me that food was great. And, sometimes he would say my cooking is even better than his mother's.
Enjoy yor meals.
