Is it bad for there being much money?

I read a story in a book. A couple had a large business ,they often stayed up late to check their bills.Next door lives a street vendor,whose business was much smaller than that of the couple.But every evening he went home,he sang happily after finishing his supper. The wife asked his husband why the vendor was so happy.The husband told her it was because he didn't earn much."do you want him not to sing?" His wife said yes."Then give him some money."answered the husband and so they did .From then on the vendor devoted himself to his business and before long his business was enlarged . He also stayed up late just as the couple checking his bills,and he didn't sing any longer. mylotters, when asked when one was happy ,he said it was when he had much money.But look at the couple and the vendor, they have much money and they are not so happy? what's the reason?

Money is important for our living but it is not a key to make us happy. Many guys who sleeping on a lots of money but they are still not happy at all because of lonely, hurting in love, or just not happy with that money, he wants more and more, etc. But many guys who don't have much money but they are really happy with their life, have good wife, nice kids and they are happy to earn money more to support for their family. We feel happy when we are pleased with what we are having and know to enjoy and holding it.

I beg to differ and be practical. It will be money that will make me happy. It'll be money that'll buy my health because if I lack money to buy my supplements, I'll be in a hospital sooner or preferably, 6 feet under the ground. It'll be money that'll make my dream of having my vacation around the world into reality and it'll be money that will make me live like a lazy cat all afternoon. So, I guess it'll be money that'll make me happy along with my family.
Yes, I'm greedy but not THAT greedy that I'll want for more. I'm merely using my greed to motivate myself to make myself money.
However, it won't be money that'll be the source of one's true happiness. What I mean to say there is that, money is merely a tool that I will be using to become happy, but it won't be the thing to give me my happiness. Hope you understand.

Yeah. One should not be greedy. One should work hard to do what he should do. I think the reason why some others are not happy is that they can't see the true meaning of life. As we read in some papers , some people who are lacking in material do be happy, which is because they are rich in their spiritual life.

I don't know about that story in the book but I think I'll be happy if I become rich not because of business that I have. My business will only involve checking my investments and that is all. I guess the couple and the vendor had stopped being happy because they lack the time now to be happy due to their work. Because they are working to earn money, they lack the time to be themselves and have a rest.
It's not because of money that they stopped being happy, I think. It's because they fear losing their money...

In my opinion, they are busy with their business without set aside some time to entertain themselves. It's not because of money that they are not happy but because of the lack of entertaining time. So people should remember to give themselves some time while they are making their money.

That's funny, that's another way of putting my thoughts about your story. Yeah, those people who became "successful" in life had lacked the time to entertain themselves because they fear that while they are away at their work, they'll lose their money. Because if one is an employee or self-employed, their business or work won't generate them money because the system of their business or work is them. The business or work won't hold on without them--unlike the businessmen and investors. The more successful they are, the less time they have for themselves and their family.
What I want to be in the future would either be a businesswoman or an investor--preferably an investor. Because the more successful they are, they tend to have more time in their hands.

I cannot tell the real thinking of a rich because I have ever earn much money so far.However,in my opinion,the rich may have no time to do be happy.I have ever heard that if a man often watch TV at nights,he always doesn't have much money.Earning much money will bring a man many things to do,which would cost much time.My ncle is a successful salesman who earns much money a month.His property must be worth over ten million yuan.But he always goes to bed at midnights and gets up at about six o'clock in the mornings.I have never heard him singing and he said that that's because he have no time.Maybe the rich have more things to worry about.But they aren't happy.They just have much less time to be happy.
