I had the same problem several years ago and I went to a nutritionist. He told me that sugar in foods like icecream and often other foods is highly addictive and some people (like me) are very sensitive to it. I quit eating sugar and all foods that contained it. At first I felt quite sick myself because I was getting withdrawel symptoms. Then I started to feel better as I lost my addiction to sugar.
It is important that you visit a doctor and/or get a referral to a qualified nutritionists, because if you have problems with sugar because you are not used to eating it, you can feel quite ill. But please visit a professional to help you with this, because it is not something that tends to clear up on its own. _Derek

I can relate with you zills66, most of the time cravings would also hit me like there is no tomorrow. But I believe that cravings, which seems like the problem you are facing, can be resolved. During the time when I decided to do something about my cravings, I realized that one of the best way to conquer it is to think before I garb something to eat and focus my energy to other things instead of eating.
It is true that it can be hard, but it is only hard on the onset of the situation because once you get used to eat, you wouldn't even notice that you are actually trying to avoid eating. Moderation is the key to success. Give in to your cravings sometimes but do it in moderation. Just enough to satisfy your palate, then shift your attention to other things that you love to do. I hope this helps.

Hello friend, you know, everything that is too much is very bad. We are free to eat whatever we want to eat provided that the foods we are going to eat has no bad indications on our health and also if we can really afford to buy it. But, the bottom line of that is the discipline. Most likely man would eat as much as she/he can whenever craving for foods she/he really love to eat or being so hungry that everything what she/he sees looks like any FOOD.
But, if you have strict discipline on your self or shall we say - health conscious individual - then you have no problem on your food intake.
Note: Gluttony is another case.

I can totally relate! Just few months ago, I have a 25 waistline and when I started taking up some vitamins, I can't help but eat and eat. At first, I was just letting it happened because I was so proud that my metabolism is fast. But then, days after days.. People started to notice how big my face gotten and all.
So, I started to worried about it. I tried to minimize the food, especially the rice I take but it just makes me weak and feel sick.
So lately, I started to add jogging in my daily routine and also walking (if possible) everyday. I just can't wait to get that 25 waistline back!
Try to jog every morning too. That might help!
Good luck to us!

I had something similar when I ate a lot of sugar. It made me crave a lot. Refined carbohydrates like white bread, white flour, sugar can make us hungry again and again and we crave more sugary food. It might help is you replace the carbs with whole bread and whole grains, replace sugar with some other natural sweetener like honey, and avoid added sugar in ready made foods. Fruits and veggies can make us feel full but they are low in calories.
If you feel weak maybe it would be good to ask a nutritionst or a doctor to help find a balanced diet.

You said that you had always been fond of eating, but things went bad recently because you went on a diet. Now,you feel uncomfortable.First, you should have a good rest to make your body healthy again. And then, you should not be so strict in your diet. You should go on your diet step by step. Finally, you should keep on your diet for a long time, which would make you have a good eating habit.

Your problem is food craving, you see it is all about discipline where in you have to control your mind. When you crave it doesn't mean you are hungry, craving is just a state of mind and it can be changed if you are determine to change it.
In my experience, when I crave for food I always look for something to do to forget my cravings. I only eat if I am really hungry. So try to divert your mind when you crave for something.

There's some time I also has great cravings for foods, and every time when looking at the big and small restaurants outside, I couldn't help imagining how delicious the foods must be. But now such feelings has gone. I'm keeping a balanced diet every day, with proper amount of coarse grains, vegetables, fruit and yogurt. I'll have three meals a day on time with proper amount, also, I'll go out for 30min's exercise every day, such as walking, jogging or doing simple exercise outside in the evening. It's a relaxation and can also help me keep my weight.

I can tell you what works for me. Concentrate on salads with low-calorie dressing. Get the fat free ice cream. It really isn't too bad. I was surprised how tasty it actually is. Cereals that are high in fiber and low in fat are excellent and nutritious to eat. Raw fruits and vegetables are always good to eat. Basically, try to stick to foods and snacks that are low in fat. Just read the labels on the products you buy to find out if what you are buying is low in fat or not.
