Time management, why is it so hard to do?

Time management - Why is it so hard to manage time? I think that if you manage your time well, all activities that you are tasked to do will be completed in time. But again, time is hard to manage and control specially if you are fund of doing an activity that is not related to your must-to-do task.

Hello there guys. I believe that time management is a major tool to survive in school. I am a student who is having problems with time management. I basically plan my activities and write them down in pieces of paper then post these papers in my room. This is for me to realize that I should manage my time well and not waste it on playing with computer games or doing other time-wasting activities like chatting with my friends on the internet. It is very hard for me to divert my attention on the things-to-do while I am enjoying to do things that I am delighted doing. This leads me to be a less productive student. I cannot complete my tasks on time. What should I do? Any tips for students like me to have better time management? Thanks for your replies! Godbless you all.

Yeah, it is really hard to do what we need to do if we are caught up doing the things we want to do.. Time management is hard since you don't really know when you are gonna end up ding something especially if you do not have self discipline.. Just discipline yourself to stay away from temptation until you finish your homework/project.

Time management is one of those tools that just when you think that you have mastered it, there is just something that causes the entire rules of the game to change. We're rapidly reaching the point as well where there is just simply not enough time in the day, so we really have to be creative. But no amount of creativity will allow us to really cause us to outrun time. What I do is that I do the things that I think are going to take me the longest first. And are often the most vital. That way if other things don't have time to be done, at least they are not important and they are not something that are that problematic. The best thing is to remain on focus, diving into essential things immediately, the first moment you can.

Well, manage your time, I think, basically, is certainly not easy for anyone. Not for people like you students, either for workers or even housewives. To me, that we must all understand, to better manage our time, is to always give priority to more important things and even more urgent. In your case, and excuse me if I tell you, you must always give priority to the study, rather than to play. Unfortunately I am still unemployed, so I have enough time. With this though I do not spend the whole day just to have fun, but if I can, I try to be helpful in some way.

You said you have to write your activities to manage your time. So all you need to do is to be serious in following the schedule that you already set. Never allow your attention to be diverted to other things which consumes most of your time but not in the list. You have to think the outcome in case you will not be able to fulfill your goals. I think all those will help you to have a good time management.

discipline yourself. and you have mentioned that you plan your activities and write it down in a piece of paper and post it in your wall. then maybe you should make another one and post that not only in your wall, but also to the place where you keep on staying. like when your chatting with your friends on the internet then maybe you should also post one in your computer at the top of the screen where you can see it clearly. maybe that can help you.... my father did this once to us. as we sometimes forget to let the children take their vitamins. he make some note and post it in the refrigerator's door, and in the mirror too.

Indeed it really is hard to handle your time, trying to pack up all the things you need to do in just so limited hours. As for me, I would first list all the things that needs to be done like for a certain day, then whether I could do that at night or when I need to do that when the sun is still up. I also try to categorize whether it is urgent or will it need a little bit more time to do. It is quite hard to focus on your task if those interruptions that you might have is just around the corner, especially for students like you. It will take time to get used to a new routine rather than wasting time in front of a computer doing a not so related thing with regards to your tasks. If possible, you may also list down your deadlines, this will be a big help, in order for you to be reminded of your time frame in doing such tasks. Try to avoid if not, just limit yourself from getting to other interruptions you might divert your attention to, knowing that it will really lead you to a less productive day. Then after doing all the tasks, give it a big check on your list,it will be nice to see to checks, finding out you are really accomplishing things, and as a remark for yourself, maybe you can buy a little something, that will give you little more perseverance to do so. Reward yourself for a task well done.. :) Hope this will help.

You are right in realizing time management is a very essential tool for people and not just students like you. Like you, I try to plan my activities and stick with them. but we are human and we are not perfect. Sometimes we don't or can't stick to a time frame due to unforeseen circumstances or sometimes, we take a break and lost track of time. In sum situations, it's okay but there are times when we really have to focus on the task and not on the pleasures. The only hing I can advise you is to have enough will and discipline to stick to your plan. a plan, is just like that, a p[lan. it does come true on its own. It helps you but you alone can determine whether it would fail or succeed. However, you should also keep track of your health. too much intense activities will take a toll on you and it might hinder your plans and progress to finish tasks rather than help speed up and accomplish them.

Being humble, i do not really have a problem in time management. Haha. Well, there are times that i don't finish what i am gonna supposed to do for school on the time that i set but i will still make sure that i will finish it before the deadline. Using my phone, watching television are those things that blocks my way to finish my work but if i am really serious with my work and i want to finish it on time or earlier, time management is my way. I am willing to sacrifice things up. Just concentrate, and avoid those things that may interrupt you. It is not bad at all to have a break even though you have set a time but be sure to stay focus on your work not on what you will do during or after the time for break. Good luck. concentrate and stay focused. Sometimes, it really needs a experience of failure before realizing what you have done is wrong. :)
