I think buying laptops are it depends on how you used it, if you used and load it with too many application and used it load many files you must go for the higher specs. But if you just used it for some personal purposes you can choose the either notebook or netbook.

I have had three Dell InspironS. The one I have right now is a N5010, with a Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64 bit hard drive. 4.oo GB of physical memory, lithium Ion battery, with a Hitachi Optical drive. Dell are the best in my eyes. I used to work for a HP outfit and they actually used Dell so that tells me Dell is better priced and longer lasting. You may pay a little more but in the long run you have a much better product.

IN buying a laptop you don't really need to go to what is the latest one. Consider the situation where you will be needing it. If you want to go for the most high tech one, then Intel i7 is the latest processor from intel then match it with a good amount of ram let say 8 GB and good Video Card plus a huge hard drive space.

It depends on your needs. I think i3 second generation with 4 GB ram and 500 GB hard disk is more than enough for a normal person. You can have plenty of movies and i3 second generation is a pretty fast processor. And you should get windows 7 home premium 64 bit don't take windows 7 home basic because I think it sucks. And I prefer you should buy your laptop from a company and do not have it assembled. Because the major advantage in buying it from a company is that you get many preinstalled softwares which are really helpful.
