Here in India there has been a culture of joint families from ages, though it is gradually getting lesser and lesser day by day. It is actually seen that there are more of clashes between people and lot of misunderstanding emerging...Is it natural?

All families are prone to clashes. Not just joint families. In case of nuclear families, as we call them, even if there are small misunderstandings, it may lead to major fights... this is because, only the husband and wife are there and even small misunderstandings grow bigger and bigger due to lack of maturity and experience. But when it comes to a joint family, there are experienced well wishers who solve our issues at the root level itself and prevent it from growing further.... Of course more the number of people, more is the probability to get disputes as you have to deal with a wide variety of characters which in turn leads to a wide range of misunderstandings.. but these are short term disputes which have least impact unlike the nuclear family issues...

Yeah... even in nuclear families they can lead a blissful life. It all depends on their individual character..... If any one of them is understanding, adjusting type, then they can lead a reasonably peaceful life... If both are soft natured, understanding, thoughtful and mature people, then their life would be heaven. If that is the case, then for them joint family might be slightly disturbing. Because, in a big family they may have to deal with some ill-tempered, low key people which is a disturbing factor. They need not face such a condition if they are leading life separately...

So ultimately its the individual nature that matters.. how one individual takes/accepts/tolerates another individual is how a joint/nuclear families survive..thanks for the wide view in this aspect.

Joint families already clashed for silly reasons and crashed already, all the joint families known to me have departed, but still they fight mainly over money matters.
