I woke up this morning and thought about how lucky I am to live in Florida. I am originally from upstate NY, but I find a more active and happy life here in FL. This is a great place to have a family and raise children. The weather is always nice enough to go outside and enjoy the park or picnic. There are so many theme parks, museums, pools and much more. I feel like moving to Florida is the best thing we could have ever done. Do you like the state that you live in? I'm curious as to how everyone else feels about where they live.

It's always a good thing to like the place in which one lives. I've always found aspects of any place I've lived to be both enjoyable and vexing. I'm "happy enough" where I am now but would move if I felt I needed to be somewhere else.
As the saying goes, "Bloom where you're planted."

The first time I came across it was about 1990... my boss had a poster of it in his office.

Life with the hot weather all year round sounds ideal to me. Yes, you are very lucky to live in Florida. Your kids have great beaches and theme park galore close to them. I grew up on the border of Kent and Greater London. Being so close to London was excellent for school visits. When I began working full time it was at a shipping company in London. I loved the Kent coast and the villages near to Canterbury. So at 19 years old I bought a little cottage three miles south of Canterbury in a delightful village. So I had the best of both worlds: a rural lifestyle, the friendly village and the city just a few miles away. I loved days out at the coast to the north, the east and the south. I adored Dover and Rye most of all. In those days I had a bike and traveled on local buses plus trains.
In 2005 I moved to Somerset and liked it at first very much indeed. There are fewer beaches to go to and they have sinking sand and a dangerous tide. I really miss Kent especially in the summer time. My family live here so I wouldn't want to go back to Kent. They have the 11 plus scheme and it was lucky I moved my son whilst he was in Year Six. Now I have two more kids. I like the pretty seaside views by the sea front, the next town up towards Bristol and the town of Glastonbury. In 2010 I bought my bungalow and it is my forever home I think.

It depends where you live in FL, I live close to downtown orlando in FL for one and half year, I moved to a different city an year ago. It's really nosily in orlando. There are a lot of lations over there too. Some (I mean only some not everybody)are really rude, and always turn their radio out loud in thier car on the street. You can hear thier music loudly while they are driving. I mean you are in the public space, lower down your own voice, we dont need to listen to your music.
but some other places, like beaches are really good, a lot of my friend visit those places really want to move there, that's true. Also I think Florida is the best fishing places ever.

I love Florida! I almost moved there in 2004 but the cost of living was too expensive for me being single. If I had enough money I would probably move there. My single worry would be about the hurricanes. I currently live in NC and I like it. This is where I was born and raised. I live in the central part of the state so I can get to the mountains or the beach in almost an equal amount of time. I enjoy the beaches here and have often thought about moving to the Outer Banks but there is just something about Florida that keeps calling me.

I envy you living in Florida with all that great weather. Florida is on my bucket list of places I'd like to visit. I live in Canada and although we sometimes have some bitterly cold weather I love it. With the cold weather comes the winter sports. Both my boys played hockey, which I enjoyed being involved in and it makes the winter months go faster if you're busy. I love all the freedoms we have, and the excellent health care system. I've lived in quite a few places in this vast, beautiful country. My ex-spouse was in the military and we got posted many times. I've lived from Cold Lake, Alberta (and yes it was extremely cold)to Manitoba to southern Ontario to New Brunswick, and everywhere in between. Each place I've lived had it's own advantages and beauty. I wouldn't change any of it for the world. I enjoy where I'm living right now in Ontario. The city has everything I need for my current lifestyle. I plan on staying here for a while. When it comes to retiring though we have a place picked out in our minds, on Lake Erie, close to family. I'm tempted to do as a lot of Canadians do and become a snowbird in the future. We'll see!
