a spister? I find this word very insulting. How come women are called a spinster and men can be single?

hi wakeupkitty.i respect your opinion for the word spinster,but as for my opinion,there is nothing wrong with the word spinster.because some women preferred to stay unmarried for their personal reasons until they became old.while men who chose to become single until they grow old are also called bachelors.these spinsters and bachelors does not mean that nobody liked or loved them,its just that,they are happy as they are and that is their choice in life.

The only thing that I always have known that I want to do in my life is have a family. Because of this, I know that I would be much happier in a relationship than I would be on my own. I would love to able to give my children a happy and peaceful life within the family home, and I am hoping that I will be able to start doing this within the next year or so when I will be buying my first home. It is a very exciting time, and I just know that it is in that kind of family set up where I truly belong, and where I will be truly happy.
