Well, I have to disagree that German is close to English. The sentence structure is totally different. It can get a little confusing. I do agree that the pronounciation may be similar to English. It still is a difficult language to learn though. My husband's native language is German, however since we live in the English speaking caribbean, we tell to communicate in English. So, it's rather difficult to learn German, but I've picked up a few things.

Hey Bubble, Sassy picture you got going on there. I have also found German a bit difficult, but I have learned a few things and hopefully I will continue to learn more. Guten Tag! Wie geht es Ihnen? Woher kommen Sie?

When I was younger I used to read a lot of books and I wanted to learn two languages (beside Spanish and French which they teach in school). Italian was one and the other was German. I learned a couple phrases but I cant remember anything now. I think I remember thinking that yes it was easy to learn. Spanish is way easier though.

I agree that Spanish is alot easier to learn than Spanish. Like you I learned Spanish and French in school and I still remember quite a bit. Though as is cunstomary, i can understand a lot more than I can speak. Also, wie geht es ihnen?

I found it to be very easy.....but then again I'm from Germany and I grew up speaking German. I know a lot of people that say German is one of the hardest languages to learn.I guess it really depends on the induvidual person....some people have a ear for languages were yet others have a hard time learning any other language.

Actually, German and English are very closely related. The word order is not so different and I see more similarities than differences. I find it semi-easy to learn. I'm not the greatest at speaking it, but I'm coming along.
