Does anyone know of a good place to buy fabric online. I make alot of stuff homemade but I feel like I am not really saving any money buying my fabric at walmart or craft stores. I am looking for tulle exspecially for my hair bows and my homemade tutus. I have seen some on ebay but it's not the big pieces like I need. So if there are any suggestion I will really appreciate it.Thank yall

Annie's Attic? I have never bought from them, but it seems like they would have any of the matierals you would need and could buy in bulk which would make it cheaper. Let me know if it works, because I have been looking for cheaper yarn for my knitting as well.

I looked at the site. They didn't seem to have the fabric that I needed because I need tulle for making my hair bows. They did have things made out of tool. It seemed like they had alot of crochet stuff.. Thank yall for the info though. I am going to have to just keep looking I am sure.

Urgh. I feel your pain. Fabric is harder and harder to find for a decient price. I dig through the clearance bins at athe fabric stores. The best way to save money I found on new fabric yet was to use coupons at the stores. Our local JoAnns sends out 40% off coupons and I buy fabric then. I save more when I go to thrift stores and buy old clothes for material. I cant be picky with what I want then though.

Check your local Joanne stores..ask the manager. At the one I go to, I can use as many discount coupons as I can find...as long as they have different scan bar numbers. Used to be one per visit...but now they will take as many as you have on a visit..as long as those scan/UPC numbers on the bar code are different. For instance...I had a coupon from a mailer,2 from online in two different emails, and the instore mailer and then the mailer that came to my house(join their mailing list) had 2 coupons one was for 40% off and one for 50% off...I was able to use all 5 coupons at once...so since these coupons say "50% on "cut" of fabric", I was able to buy 4 yards of fabric for the price of 2 - or half off the fabric! So the 100% cotton was $8 a yard and I got it for $4 a yard. Plus...they use "competitors" coupons...in the same fashion..per scan/UPC bar code numbers...So Michaels craft store which is a ways from me.. I can take those in there too. And again, join their mailing list in the store AND online...I have had ones from Joannes and 2-4 from Michaels at the same time! So now I can go to Joannes and literally get my fabric (or anything else for that matter) at half price!
Plus, check thrift stores. Sheets are good for backing as long as they aren't to thin. Check them and see how "old" they are. Thoset hat have been used quite a bit, but are still in "good condition"...are not good condition for quilting. The stiffness is gone and you need that for quilting. They'd be okay for bedding, but not quilts. But just check them out. I have found them from time to time.
Look and maybe they even have fabric! I have gotten that often..yard or so. And...curtains...you can cut off the casing and hem parts and use that nice center area....again if they aren't thin and worn down.
And if all else fails...check out the clothes...a blouse back and front is a good size "area" of fabric that you can cut out some squares and then cut those squares into smaller ones or triangles etc.
I just recommend 100% cotton only (blends with poly stretches and that is not good in a quilt..trust me, I have tried that in the name of saving money, and it doesn't work. To much stretch and the fab is thin anyway.
Denim is a good quilt fabric. They use that backwards..meaning you sew WRONG sides together instead of right sides so that "hem" is on the front of the quilt and then they fray the hems to make a fuzzy looking seam. Looks great! Then some soft flannel or cotton on the back and you have a great quilt.!
And yard sales...those are great places too!

I just bought a bit of fabric on etsy. For me this works because that way the money comes out of my online earnings so I don't have to worry as much about our budget.

Here is a site that sells it by the bolt. I do not know what Wal Mart or other stores charge, I have not bought it. http://www.bbcrafts.com/tulle-fabric/
Funny thing though. I have found some stuff at Hobby Lobby to be cheaper than Wal Mart or any online source. I have also searched Amazon for particular things and found it cheaper than Wal Mart even by the yard. You may want to do a search on Amazon if you do not want entire bolts.

Honestly, I have no idea. I've never bought fabric online. I've looked to see if a certain character for the kids was on fabric but never bought.
Hopefully someone who does alot of sewing has a good answer for you.
