Softdrinks and cancer

I find this disturbing. Especially as they’re only dropping the level of 4-MEI in California and will gradually do the same all over the world.No doubt you’ve all heard the urban myths that if you leave a tooth or a nail in a glass of Coke it’ll dissolve overnight. Is that true? I don’t know. I’ve never tried it.But what I do know is the reason Coke and cancer keep getting thrown around in the same sentence is that the active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. It has a pH level of 2.8. The concentrate in Coke is so corrosive that the commercial trucks carrying it have to display the Hazardous Material sign used to indicate they’re carrying highly corrosive materials.

Hiya EP,
Very good food for thought there indeed I did not know this about Coke drinks so thank you for pointing that out to us all.
I have always guessed that Coke is not good for us really but I thought of it in terms of additives they have been known to use and great amounts of sugar and artificial sweeteners as well which are also terrible for our health.
The other week I was looking at a Wild Forest Fruits Drink on the Shelf which I thought looked very nice.
Now I try to read the labels if I can while I am there in the Shop as if everyone can read microscopic letters (grin).
At the throught of it having 14 percent sugar plus the other things they put in I put it back and thought I´ll wait for better times because I love bilberry and blackberry fruits but not like that loaded really loaded and with citric acid I have heard that is not good for you either.
Also I did not know that the lorries had to carry those hazardous material signs on for the Coke drinks.xxx
By the way I have tried Coke drink to clear slightly blocked sinks and washbasins as well it works a treat if it is not too blocked but if you think about it that is really something to think about.xxx

Thanks for the generous share of your thoughts. Okay, phosphoric acid is by nature not good for our bodies. What taught man to intake such kind of corrosive chemical? And another one, sugar. Softdrinks contain high amount of sugar which is not good for our bodies either.

Wow- that is quite scary. I don't really know how acidic coke is or if it can melt teeth easily, but i do know that drinking i everyday is bad which is why i don't drink it much- just few time a month. I am scared for those people who always take soda though.

Nice Discussion Friend. As you say soft drinks like Coke are have very high level of phosphoric acid so if you put nail or your tooth into it you tooth and nail dissolve overnight. This is because Our tooth or nail are made up of calcium and calcium dissolve in phosphoric acid.
