Odie is afraid of strange squeaky sounds, moving chairs, and loud noises. He'll go into my daughters room and help herself to an empty bed or hop on the sofa even though he has his own crate to hide. Every afternoon my neighbors doing some hand drills or welding inside their house, and Odie always run beside me here in my sofa where I'm working. He actually hide beside my legs . He is really scared. Please share!

Most of our dogs are scared of fireworks especially the very loud ones. You'll see them running around searching for a place to hide every New Year's Eve. Guess it hurting their ears or they feel very uncomfortable with it. They alsways try to hide under some vehicle.

Our dog is afraid of the gym ball that I use when I work out. It is quite big and I think it is the size that scares him. One of his toys also scared him. We bought it because we thought that he would enjoy playing with it, but it scared him and he ran away and hid in another room. Aside from those things sounds tend to scare him especially fireworks and thunderstorms. We spent New Year's Eve at home last year because we didn't want him to be alone when he was scared of the fireworks. There are many children in our neighbourhood and they love fireworks.

Hi lyn. It's wonderful to be back talking about anything, including dogs. It may not be for long because I will be in the mountains again, without my dog. My dog named "spotty too hotty" is a male dog which is scared with other dogs. In our home, when we open the gates, he goes out and had a fight with other dogs coming over our neighborhood. When I go outside to walk, my dog walks with me but scared when other dogs are approaching. I really don't know much about the science of dogs so I don't have the exact knowledge how or why my dog is scared with other dogs.

Rocky is afraid of cars and motorcycles when we go outside for a walk. One day, when we took him outside for a walk in our village, he got so hyper that he got away from his leash. We were actually chasing him since he ran so fast that he almost got hit by a car. Luckily the car stopped right away, and was even to pull the brakes. Rocky almost got hit and it made us shout. We then, asked for an apology and the driver asked for an apology too since he was not able to notice Rocky cross the road. He is still very little, he is a 4 month old playful and hyperactive japanese spitz. The day after, we decided to buy another leash so it wouldn't happen next time.

my dog is not scared of much, she is always on the look out for other dogs and cats and noises, but when it comes a storm and thunders she will come running to me and hide under my legs or try to get on the couch beside me its quite funny but i do feel sorry for her and put her in my lap.. but too she is not scared of any other dogs no matter how big they are.. she's a great little dog.. :)

My dog....Hmmmm....kind of interesting. Actually, I had discovered what my dog afraid of just last month. My dog is a male "German Shepherd Dog". Last month I brought him too the park, there is also a dog (female) there. The female is a little smaller than him. My dog didn't run to the female, instead the female came near him and sniffed him. My dog acted strange that time. First, he just want to avoid the sniff from her by turning around. But then, the female acted more widely and started to lick him. My dog was scared and jumped away, the female still chase after him... Finally, I found my dog lay prone under a tree with his front leg covering on his eye. The female dog was also there sniffing his....his....you know, something between his hind legs. After that, I had brought him to a breeding center once. He also acted like that day at the park while meeting any female dogs in heat. Finally, nothing could work, the vet can only use "Artificial Semen Collecting." (Because I had paid for the breeding, they must finish this, and it really worked!!!XD) So, the conclusion is : MY MALE DOG IS AFRAID OF. FEMALE DOGS... Shame on him.

I have one chihuahua that is afraid of my brother, he teases her so she does not like him at all. She doesn't like strangers really. My other dog, well, she is afraid of strangers, other dogs, lightning, thunder, rain, for awhile she was afraid of my cat, the vacuum, or if anyone is yelling. I think she is just afraid of loud noises in general. Poor thing
