Sutter Union High School brought in a speaker to speak about bullying. What they got was a profanity laced attack on Christians and the Bible. Students were so turned off by this many of them did what you should do when confronted with a bully, they got up and walked out. Why do we have to agree that the homosexual lifestyle is right to be against bullying? I am a firm advocate of not bullying ANYONE. I don't have to like the person, I don't have to agree with him/her on every issue. I KNOW that bullying him/her is wrong. Why is it that the whole anti-bullying campaign (which is/could be) a good thing attached permanently to the pro-gay agenda? And as a side note; why is the hate crime law attached to the gay lifestyle agenda as well? Does it have anything to do with the fact that Kevin Jennings, our safe school czar is gay? http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/sep/28/at-the-presidents-pleasure/

You are completely right when you say that bullying anyone is wrong. The reason bullying is so firmly linked to homosexuality is because that group is the one most likely to be bullied. Even when no one homosexual is actually involved, the words "gay" and "f*g" are constantly used as slurs by bullies. That speaks to a level of intolerance that cannot be allowed at a public school. Look, it's a free country and a parent has every right to teach their child that homosexuality is wrong. They also have a right to teach their children that other skin colors, national identities, genders, social classes, etc. are wrong. Sadly, that's what many parents choose to do. But when they teach their children these things to the extent that the child feels the need to attack another because they are black, or poor, or gay, or someone has started a rumor that they're gay...something needs to be stopped. Because every child has a right to a free education in the United States. I don't care if you're gay, Muslim, Satanist, Communist or even a democrat--just kidding--you and your kids have the same rights as everyone else. That's our Constitution. Of course, then, I am equally opposed to an attack on Christianity. I would love to read a news story on the event you are speaking of...that's kind of that I thought the link would be...

http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2012/04/anti-bullying_icon_bullies_students_with_obscenity-laced_anti-christian_rant.html http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top-stories/anti-bullying-speaker-curses-mocks-christian-teens.html There you go, I disagree that gays are the most likely to be bullied. I think appearance, clothes and geekiness are the main targets. I was bullied terribly in school, and I am not gay. I also don't agree that most parents choose to teach their children that those types of persons you listed are ok to bully or that they are 'wrong'. I don't see that in my experience with parenting or in observing others parent. In fact, Christians are most likely to tell their children that any sort of cruelty or meanness is wrong, no matter who the target may or may not be. My observation in this day and age, watching my grandchildren interact is that kids are aware that we should treat others with respect. No matter who they are or what they believe. They've mentioned homosexuality in an off handed manner after seeing it on TV or in a person in WalMart and do not seem to feel like it is something to even be worried about. Just that they're different. Like a person who is black or has purple hair. lol There is no need to put one group down just to hold another group up. Why can't we all just be on the same level?

I disagree that gays are the most likely to be bullied. I think appearance, clothes and geekiness are the main targets. I`m sure it was because of the appearance or the clothes.

They bullied me for being a A student, they bullied me for having a step-father, they bullied me for not being 'developed' at the early age of 11, they bullied me for having hand me down clothes, and they bullied me for not fitting in with the cool kids that bullied every one.

I don`t agree with bullying but there is definitely something wrong in our western civilization. There is definitely a gay agenda and an anti christian agenda. I remember when you showed me that documentary with that christian statue and there was this atheist lady who complained about being bullied by a christian without any reason. Then you can`t even talk about homosexuality. You must accept it and that`s it.In my opinion there is a big lie behind homosexuality and when i have the chance i talk about this. ( I don`t open the discussion i just write or tell my opinion when i`m asked ).So if someone is asking "is homosexuality natural ? " i say no and i try to explain why i don`t think it is natural. It is my opinion, this doesn`t mean i don`t respect their right to do whatever they want to do.But most of the time people will call you a bully just because you have a different opinion.

Nasty thing, logic. It gets in the way of political correctness everytime. I certainly don't want to hurt people's feelings. I don't think anyone should live their life worrying about what people do in their bedrooms, unless of course it involves children or the unwilling. So, you and I agree. But when you bring your sexuality out into the public, you better be willing for some debate and disagreement. Bullying, no. Disagreement, yes.

Bullying is bullying, regardless of why it happens. It's really stupid to point out one single aspect, and exaggeratedly force that down people's throats, hurting them in their own beliefs. I mean, I'm supportive of gays and I don't believe in Christianity, but no way this is the way to go as this speaker did. It's bad that people get bullied because of their s.xual orientation, but when it's about bullying, it shouldn't be a foul-mouthed attack on Christianity, as the religion itself doesn't do anything with bullies, and also, more bullying happens because of looks, races, studying good and social awkwardness then because of someone being gay or lesbian, I believe. Every aspect should be taken as a part, or they should talk about it in general. Like anyone with half a brain knows what bullying is and what is considered bullying...
