Can't live without food on the work station.

How many of you guys are working and eating at workstations at the same time?
It's relaxing after you've work hard and such. Call it binge eating, I hate it when there's no food at the back of my work desk's monitor. if you're going to ask me why; it's because it's 1) It's restricted: No bringing of food at our BPO office and 2) i get bored easily at work without munching anything.
Well it does trigger the brain to work harder as you fuel yourself and keep it going. That's my perception. How would you work properly if you're hungry? At least working on a full stomach will allow you to think better and perform more than expected. Lastly, you'll tend to forget office tensin and another "safe" way of entertaining yourself while working on a deadline.
Now share your thought with me what food do you bring in your work stations. And are you in favor with me. Why or why not? Tell me if you're also a snack fanatic in the office.

When I worked in a BPO too, I used to bring with me snacks, like chips or pieces of candies and I have them ready before I sit down on work station. I want to munch something when I get bored at work. It is also my energizer, when I start to feel lazy. We are not allowed to eat heavy meals in our work station, I guess corn chips, peanuts biscuits and candies are allowed. I also have that same experience before.

I don't eat too much sweets likes cakes and candies.
Chocolate bars are nice. If I ate too much sweets I'll end up feeling lazy on the contrary because of the unused sugar. It will give me that "sugar rush" but in about 30 minutes I'm knock-out.
Cookies makes wonders if I'm hungry and I'm craving for sweets at the same time.

I could totally relate. I also worked in a BPO before and I can't stand the thought that I can't bring snacks on my station. I'm much of a food person and I enjoy having snacks while my mind is busy on something. It's like as if I feel I'm on a low energy level if I don't have one on my desk. That's why, before I come to the office, I'd always make sure that I have food with me. If not, I have to buy somewhere so I can bring it on my desk. And yes, I resigned from the BPO company I've worked before and transferred to a company that offered me a bigger compensation, somewhere I could relax and have a snack while working. ;)

I don't like eating when I am work, as I think that everyone needs a bit of a break from their computer at some point or they will end up being too inactive. However, I will admit that I do sometimes work through my breakfast and lunch just purely because I have so much that I have to do during the course of the day. I don't have my dinner whilst at the computer though, as I have to have some kind of a break or I would be all work and no play. I think that it is unhealthy to eat at your desk, but people are so busy and so short of money that leaving your desk might just not be an option for you all of the time.

Come to think of it; "no food in working places" makes the workdesk look clean and pest-free.
Some peole will take their breaks in eating somewhere else. I understand hoy wou feel about it. For me I am so busy that my breaks and luches are being used for my second job's purposes like calling them for a meeting of the week or sending email to clients and such. Most of the times I also use my lunch breaks as a shift OT so it will not hurt the team's queue with all those customers coming in at the same time. Strength in munbers though.
Eating on my station; even with those light chips are necessary for me. Otherwise I can't work better that I have to. But the dinner time is save for my personal time assesting everything happened during the day. If like that's what you mean about taking your time for eating somewhere and getting a break from work.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts about it and happy mylotting.

I always feel more hungry when I work. I guess because when you contentrate on something and work hard, you consume energy and you feel tired, and when I feel tired, I think grabbing something to eat is always making things easier. However, when I worked at a mall, I usually resisted buying food there, because it was really expensive, and as I was travelling with public transport and I had to take a small purse (because I worked not in a proper store, but a counter, and I the place I was to keep my purse in wasn't big enough for a large purse), I didn't wanna bring another bag just with snacks in it. But as I work at home, I go out to eat or drink something every hour I guess... but sometimes even walking helps, because in my job I really have to pay attention and be quivk typing... and well, I always find eomething to eat "for free". Today I ate a whole box of chocolates... ... ...

Wows. that's really nice. If you're working on a food chain; maybe that's also an advantage for free food.
What's better about eating is it gives you that rewarding feeling of a job well done. And you crave for more work for that growing personal need.
Chocolates are my mortal sinful food. Gives me the pleasure but I hate it when I need to brush my teeth afterwards and the next day it hurts and my gums starts to swell. I'm too lazy doing it.
