Well its summer again in the Philippines and the temperature is rising. This time of the year people enjoy going out and having fun outdoors like going to the beach or to freshen up in the mall (hahaha... free air conditioning ) but there are still some families that enjoy staying indoors due to the raging heat of the sun, and I am one of those and to complete my indoor summer fun I sometimes treat my family to homemade summer thirst quencher drinks and frozen dessert or food that is typically for summer.
Last week i made some watermelon aqua fresca which is a watermelon drink that is so easy to do. Yesterday I used the mangoes that my dad bought and made it to no bake mango cheese cake which is a hit, the tangy cream cheese complements the sweet mangoes . Even though its summer BBQ is still a favorite on my moms foodlist but we make our own because its more convenient than waiting in our kapitbahays/Neighbors BBQ.
How about you fellow myloters what food do you make during summer months and are you a indoor or outdoor person?
have a nice day!

We like indoors and outdoors both. In the early mornings it is nice to enjoy our coffee on the porch. Later in the day we will drink Iced coffee, or Iced Tea or some kind of fruit drink. We make lots of cold, hearty salads, like potato salad and bean salads. Things cooked on the grill mean we do not heat the kitchen up. You can grill meat and vegetables or wrap veggies in aluminum foil with pieces of meat. It is all so good.

You could drink lemonade and fruit drinks instead.

true because your doing the grilling outside so that means your not adding heat inside the house. Iced coffee sounds delish but im not a huge fan of coffee ... even tea idk.

I'm a little bit of both. I love the outdoors most of the time, but I don't do much out there except walk and garden. When it gets hot, I wilt, so I tend to stay inside during the hottest part of the day. I eat a lot of cold sandwiches and salads in the summer, as well as fresh fruits as they come in season.
Unless someone comes for dinner, which happens a couple of times a week or more, I don't cook much anyway and never did learn to handle a BBQ grill well!

We are nearing Winter now in my country. But that makes me crave more for Summer! We are BBQ people in my country. It is a favorite way of getting together from the beginning of Spring until Fall. We life red meat and some chicken thighs in our barbeques and plenty of salads. Fresh fruit drinks are everyone´s favorites except by the youngest who prefer Cocacola and the like.

It´s not every day nor even every week. But it´s often enough and it´s the way we all like best as gettogethers go.

Yes, most beaches are filled with people specially during this time of year. Students are on vacation so family outings is popular to refresh a bit. Watermelon drink is so tempting and mango too.

I guessed you have a fantastic summer! Mine, I love to eat halo halo and ice cream to beat the summer heat. I also love strolling to malls to freshen up and go window shopping as well.As much as I love going to the beach,my job limits me to do so. I guessed I am an outdoor person since I love nature trips and go outside our house for that matter.haha!

Thanks I hope you well have a terrific and fantastic summer aswell. Hahaha... very funny about our kababyans is that we love to go to the mall and window shop to get freshen a little.
I love halo-halo if the "sahog"/ingredients of the halo-halo is complete like the luscious langka, the melt in your mount leche flan, the crunchy pinipig, the oozing Ube icecream and halayang ube, the rejuvenating Sagos and shaved ice, the tempting buko strips, the colorful gulaman that tickles my sight, and the ohh soo yummy minatamis na saba. Need I say more?

Summer delicacies are the best! I like eating halo halo or ice cream inside a cool and freezing mall. Also, one of my favorite is halo halo and a plate of "pansit luglog"? Makes me hungry at the moment.

This discussion of yours makes me hungry, :). I also love freshen drinks during summer, since, I also live in a tropical country. I love to go to the beach as well, there, I love to drink all sorts of tropical fruits juices, and home-made ice creams, that some families sell along the way, they are delicious, and easy to make too. Specially this season is rich in delicious fruits that we all can enjoy, in our countries.

Total out doors people. We never stopped using our grill during the winter. Chicken and veggies on the grill will always be a hit on my list. My one kid just loves grilled peaches, i char the cut side then when I flip it over put just a touch of brown sugar and lemon juice to make a brule kinda sorta top.

wow grilled peaches never tried that since peaches here are not fresh they are canned. Topping that with vanilla ice cream would be perfect .
