Hello Lotter,
To be more specific she mentioned based on a LIE by the DEVIL. it's hard to believe but I actually said this by the former Beauty Queen Mirriam QUiambao. I did not expect this a person who is supposed to be a Role model to the rest of Filipino people, but it was gravely disappointing.
I wonder how many former beauty queens were saying gays are base on a lie or something, she wasn't aware of the consequence hereof.

Not only is it not based on a lie, that doesn't even make any sense. No one is going around lying to people and telling them to be gay. The basic attraction to men, women, both, neither, etc. is something you are either born with or that develops of its own accord around puberty--study after study shows this. Does she actually believe that anyone, much less the devil, could convince someone to be gay if they didn't want to be?
Whatever. It's her belief and her right to believe it. But if I knew that about her, I certainly wouldn't have appointed her to represent *my* people.

Hello Shannon, It never made any sense, the only thing that i think find ridiculous is some one lying about their gender, for example, if you're a gay that is pretending to be straight, that is lying. And not what she claimed to be lying because simply they were like that, but i believe some were born that way. Have a Nice day

I sincerely don't know how to make of her statement. I think she doesn't mean to offend anyone but maybe her beliefs are also the cause why the message is regarded as today. I don't really think that your sexuality is based on whatever lie, I always maintained that it is based on attraction,. and that is more primal and intrinsic rather than dogmatic.
As for her, she should have known better. As a public persona, her opinions are going to be scrutinized, twisted and stretched into many forms. She should have it it to herself. Sometimes, freedom of expression isn't gonna cut it.

Hello Jeanneyvonne, I think she has offended a lot of people with her views and words, she has forgotten how sensitive the filipinos are, and sad to say pinoy's don't tolerate others having such different opinions.I don't know what kind of support i should be showing right now, but i hope she will be careful of her own words.

she actually clarified it too Letran.. she didn't mean to be harsh but those were said to be written on the bible..
It is harsh i agree, but then again times are changing right? we must accept gays and the likes, gender or ones preference in gender does not matter anymore, what matters for me is what is inside the person

Hello Jazel_juan, I know she didn't really mean to be insulting, but you know how our people will react. as long as they are good people, they will always be accepted in the society. i think it really hurt gays and lesbian community because the beliefs can't be change with the now times perspective.

dear LK,
She did say that? ...what a....was she perfect?
Okay, I am not here to judge her, and she has no right to judge the gays and lesbians either.
Who wants to live in humiliation, negative comments and the judgmental society like her huh?
Did she ever think those are human beings too- made by GOD.
Nobody would ever choice to become a gay or lesbians- we never knew how hard those people are fighting with their own selves.
We never knew the pain they are suffering and how they cried alone when no one seems to understand them...

Hello Jaiho-sis Just like you though i don't want to judge her, but i think her statement has made her judge a gay with their existence in life. well, ONLY god can really be the judge of that, because we all know that the bible is also man made and the accuracy that such words coming from GOd is how you believe in it. i think gay has the right to exist

Based on a lie? People are gay and lesbians for real, and if any does it based on a lie to improve social status then he or she is strictly and practically on their own.

Hello luxlyangles, i have no clue how she had just come up with the balls to say something like that. she even recommended them to have their own transgender Univerese Pageant. but if they do participate in an all female Ms. Universe, it would be truly unfair for the women.

Well i think what she meant to say was accepting gays or lesbians may be part of devil's schemes to deceive people and to trick us out of the morality that we know of. in changing times, cultures and beliefs and people's practices have changed and i think that it is because that we tend to accept more things into our lives now and it is slowly becoming normal to see people men dressed as women particularly.. unlike when it was say, 50 years ago... no one would dare come out and say they are gay and proud to be one.

I definitely don't think that having a homosexual orientation is based on a lie. Instead, I think that homosexuality is based on a genetic mutation. The reason that I believe that this is the case is based on the fact that homosexuality seems to run in families. For example, my father was one of ten children, of those ten children, three of them are homosexual. In the next generation there was a total of sixteen grandchildren. Of those sixteen grandchildren, four of them are homosexual.

Hi Letran Knight: I don't see the point. I don't think someone decides to be gay nor I don't see it as a lie. It's just another aspect in someone lifes as his/her temper or the colour of his/her eyes.
