How many of you have a schedule for everyday. Is it one that puts your every move in it, or is it just some sort of a guideline for your day. Or is it like a cleaning schedule, a schedule that tells you what day of each week this needs to be done or that. Or are you a completely fly by the seat of your pants kind of person. I think I have a little bit of a schedule but I fly by the seat of my pants alot,, and it's a trait that I don't like I would prefer to have a strict schedule

try living in boarding schools and you will regret wishing to have a strict schedule. I think what we need is a guideline, enough to put our everyday life in order. listing what you will do each minute you breath is crazy. I have simple guidelines of my daily routine, like when to wake up, breakfast, cleaning and washing, lunch, rest/nap, gardening, dinner, self-time, entertainment, sleep. Like, I won't watch TV unless i have finish cooking, and such. But you need to be able to be flexible too. even if your guidelines say its cleaning time, but suddenly a neighbor ask you for help, you can't just close the door on his face and start sweeping.

I think flexibilty is important, of course I wouldn't shut the door in my neighbors face, but you have to weigh out what matters more when things arise, because sometimes sticking to a schedule is very important like with children and so forth they need and crave structure, and when you veer from the path it can mess them up.

I am a stay home mommy. I have ADD and I never feel like I can get anything done because when I start working on something, I think of something else I need to do and abandon what I'm working on now. So right before I left work, I created myself a little chore list of different things I'll do around the house every day. It is helping me alot. I'm thinking of taking it to the next step and creating a schedule of activities to do throughout the week. I find myself thinking of things to do but not following through because I forget or get caught up doing something else. I know some people would think this is crazy but when you have ADD like I do, trust me, it helps a lot.

I don't think it is crazy at all. I have 3 kids and I stay at home and when life seems very scatter brained like mine the idea of a set schedule for every movement almost seems comforting, at least for me. I personally have considered a spread sheet that maps my every movement, but because it's a sense of security. that way even if there are ten tons of things to be done around the house I make sure that I get what was scheduled on the lis for THAT day.

I think many of the days do fall into a certain pattern more often than not. Whether or not there is an exact schedule, I wouldn't go that far. I do do many of the same things around the same time, perhaps in different ways to keep my sanity. I think that is less of a schedule and more of just me being on auto pilot a lot as of late, where I just tend to go to point A, to Point B, to Point C, ect, lather, rinse, repeat throughout the day.
But I think that if something unexpected happen, it would not rattle me all that much. Perhaps a little bit, but I will be able to land my feet sooner. Which is not something that I would do if I had a completely strict schedule. But to manage time properly, where there is a distinct lack of time, you got to just fly on by, just move on forward.

I used to have a very scheduled life before but now, everything comes in random since it's summer here. The funny thing is when ma and my friends plan, it will never come true but when we decide right here and then that we will do this, then it happens. I have learned the beauty of unplanned impromptu happenings in my life. It's fun and you're usually on for a surprise. ^_^

I agree that everyone does live to a schedule to some extent but that's just life. I mean like the miniscule things that you do during the day. I have seen tv shows where moms documented every movement their child made during the day.. But I honestly never looked at schooltimes and job times as a schedule it's more part of life but I guess you are right..lol

I think living on a scheduled life is great. But not to the extent of living a life like a car on a race track where everything is already planned. I set my goal for the day. I tell my self that by the end of the day, this task must be accomplished. And that's it. I don't like doing things in a way like at 8:30am Do step 1, at 10:00 Do Step 2, ...and so on. If you keep on following scheduled steps and rules, then it will just hinder creative thinking that will lead you to a magnificent way of accomplishing the task.

I love your idea of making a days goal. The funny thing is that I would like to set a goal that says today I am NOT GOING TO ANYTHING: I am trulying going to relax...haha ya right..lol.. but I think this is a good idea. I like the idea of making a list of goals and being able to physically check em off. HA you gave me some ideas.. I love this website.. I have gotten such great ideas from here

hi... I live kind of an unscheduled life, when I am not doing anything... That is during my holidays or week offs... During my working days, I have a schedule and I try to follow it, as I have to.. There's no option... LOL... I have long admired people who carefully plan and do things... And generally, they're successful too... I tried, but I couldn't be one of them...

In many cases i live a sheduled life. Everyday i have sheduled things to do.If i want to do some other things, i will set aside some time in advance. But always doing this makes me dull.So sometimes i give myself a change .I put away all of my routine, doing anything i 'd like to .I want to relax myself and refresh myself.

No, because I can't follow any schedules. I'm a procrastinator and I do things when I only feel like doing it so schedules would never work on me.

I have a plan for 1-2 year later but i don't have a detail schedule in a day. On the way going to the work, i think i should do this do that...but sometime i could not complete it as i though and i might do the others things.
Writing a schedule on the paper, i may not do it at all. so that I just keep in my thinking and do toward to reach my goal only.

Well i don't have a scheduled life.I do things when i feel like doing it.what is the fun in living a scheduled life?It must feel like living like a robot.Preprogrammed to do some stuff.I don't think that that is what life is.Live the moment and do what you feel like doing.

Yep, definitely have a schedule to keep everyday. I work from home, but I still have to work set hours. Certain things need to be done before a certain time as well.

I do. I work at a dry cleaners and go to school full time online for college and I thought working at the dry cleaners was going to be easy, but I was mistaken to think it would be easy. All I do is take orders, tag, rack, and deal with customers. I'm on my feet all day lifting clothes, big bags with clothes in them. And if a customer is not happy all I can do is relate to them and try to help them in any way I can. Don't get me wrong I love working there, but for the stuff that me and my friend deal with we should get paid a little more money.

These days, I am feeling that I live a scheduled life. I have been busy with work , my review classes plus taking care of my younger brother's enrollment. Im kinda stressed out now. I am tired and I felt like I am not living my life for me but for others. Too much responsibilities and i hope it will lessen soon. I need a breath of fresh air.Because I am not the type of person who likes a squared life. I want to live free, less responsibilities. Sigh, I cant do that now, its kinda burdensome when you are forced to be the mother or take on such big responsibility in my age where in I should e focusing about my life, my future. hehe... I feeling bit of a whiner now.

I do not make proper schedule prior to the day but I do think of the things to be done and many a times it does not get finished in the day and it transfers to the other day. Many a times I go with the things which come in the day and then go on from there.

I don't really live a scheduled life. I go about my life as it is. Sometimes I might make plans or whatever, but I usually let my day unfold as I go along.
