I was just 9 years old when I first notice the red spot on my left eye which most of you might be mistaken it for a sore eye. Yes it looks like one but the thing is, isn't burning, no soreness, not sensitive to lights like the symptoms of an ordinary sore eye/s. I could still remember, my mom used to scold me everytime she learnt I went to swimming at nearby river with friends. She believed I got this thing from that dirty river which I love going to every afternoon when mom was taking her nap. yes, it is dirty, with all those sorts of garbage mixed with oil spill scattered everywhere not to mention (sorry for the word) the few poop floating around. Ohh! God! But who cares? I was just nine then and I was enjoying the moment with my childhood friends, jumping from the bridge, racing and boating. One more thing we go to the side we think is clean (visually LOL). Happy days indeed! But I should say innocence is a voluntary misfortune. For how many times I went there, can't remember anymore. All I know is I stopped going there after this little red mark on my eye just suddenly appeared. We consulted different eye specialists to get rid of it but no one had hit the right medication. They all gave me eye drops after hearing my story, it worked but after sometime the mark starts to reappear. One said it could be the dust or the sun that I must be allergic with. Other told me I was lacking vitamin A. Another specialist explained there's a decayed tooth need to be extracted as its root is connected to my eye. I followed all their directives and unfortunately, this red mark keeps on going back. Since then we never bothered to go to any specialist. After all, they said with that little red spot will do no harm nor could lose my eyesight. It's been 21 years now and yes the mark is still on. One thing I should thank about is that within those years, for as far as I know my eye vision remained unharmed. These eye doctors somehow were right about their findings. Still, I can't help but to fear that one day I may lose my eye sight, now that even my right eye started to redden little by little. If I could just turn back time when I was nine, would listen to my mom. I'd rather take my afternoon nap with her than spending time with my friends enjoying the dirty river. But what happened was already happened. Charge it to experience as they say.

You can't be sure that the river was the reason even if it did appear in a timely matter with the river water. It is possible of course, that one time you did go and ended up getting an abrasion from the harsh water or debris...but one of the specialists should have found this. Some people just have things that are harmful, but are different. I suggest watching your eyesight just as you have to make sure it doesn't do anything different. Till then, embrace the red eye, and just know it is a special quality all of your own.

You're right there. I do think also not the river where I got this red eye because if is, the specialists may have found a cure for it or a simple eyedrop could make this red mark disappear. However I don't think it's special as I look horrible on pictures
