I feel that all people who have writing abilities could write a book depending on their own knowledge, talents and abilities. I believe everyone has something to share to other readers, whether it's about their personal life and what they have learned from them to their knowledge in different fields. And I believe that many of those who knows how to write articles or blogs has some hidden dream of publishing a book. How about you, do you somehow want to publish your own book? If yes, what type of book do you want to publish and what could be the contents of the book?

It is no more a dream since a long time. I was 18 when a magazine paid me first for an article, and I published my first book -- only 64 pages, that I would destroy today -- at 20 years old. I don't keep a count of what I have published since a long time, but I suppose you always remember your first printed works...

Wow, that's very interesting! At a very young age, you were able to publish your own book. What is the title of your book and can you give a little details of it's contents? Well, maybe those who bought your first book has gained a lot of help from it, and I'm sure that first book would be particularly significant for you, and after that I think you have written a lot more. I want to ask also which of your books published was most popular and most sold?

Sorry, I will not give the title, because it would be too easy to find my real name. Quite all my writings are in the same scientific domain, and intended for specialists. Academic books are printed at a few number, 1000 or 2000 copies. The "most popular" are popularization books for a large audience where I have written only a few pages or a chapter about my own domain : they are printed at 5 or 10000. Some have been sold easily, but I suppose that people are buying these books more for the photos than for the text. I have never sold 1 million copies of a book, and I doubt I ever will.

Hi there BetterDays,
These days with the e-publishing option, publishing your own work is more easier and affordable. I have the idea and personal experience on the topic I am planning to write about. My challenge is Time management; to set a time to write.
A solution for it is to just write what comes in my mind, something like notes style... and adding new notes constantly.
Then a day comes when I have all ideas on paper, then starts the compiling and the "REAL" writing.... :)
Anyhow what about you?
What topic you want to write about?
sssssssh: by the way my topic is related to working environment...

whispers: It seems like you have had a lot of experience with different types of work and experiences with your co-workers and everyone and everything related to your work and jobs. I think that would really be helpful to a lot of people, especially if you will be able to give them insights that would help the readers be guided in their own workplace.
You asked about the topic I wanted to write? Well, probably one would be related to self-help like 'how to overcome difficult situations' and similar themes. I would also probably choose to write about 'how to feel good about yourself and your life' or about the sports that I am good at or the hobbies that interests me. This shows I wanted to write as many books as I can handle...problem is, the first one is always the most difficult to start...:)
still whispering: please tell me when your first book is already published...and likewise :)

Yes, usually the books you wanted to publish has something to do with the things you are knowledgeable with or those you are interested in. So I guess writing a book about crime is a good idea for you because you love those types of books, therefore you probably have good imaginations about crimes, and writing about them becomes easier for you than if you write some other topics not in line with your talents or abilities. Anyway, thanks for sharing.

If I am writing a book myself I will narrate my whole story. It includes the lessons and the effects on my life. I will make sure that I will include each of you who had taught me the lessons but the thing is I hadn't yet started to write it.

Auto-biographies are very interesting books, in my opinion. In my case, I'm interested in auto-biographies that shows a lot of pictures inside the book that is related to the author's stories. And I also liked those that has this 'from rags to riches' or 'from failure to success' types of stories. Another are auto-biographies of famous personalities and the difficulties they faced in life and how they overcome them...generally inspiring stories. I hope you can write your own autobiography in the future...who knows, maybe I will buy one :D

If I were to write a book and published it, I will definitely write about my passion for traveling and have the title "Passion to Travel" as my title. I love traveling. I love to discover a lot of things in the process. Nothing bets being on the road to learn in a big class room we called our world.
