We're traveling to Iloilo in June. We've book our plane and that's it. No itinerary yet. No hotel yet. Could somebody here help? Maybe suggest some things? We'd love to hear cheap, backpacker ideas because that's how we like to do it. Thanks in advance!

Oh wow, i envy you glory. Perhaps you can PM Toni Ganzon about it, because she's from Iloilo.
But it seems she's not into Mylot lately. Probably she's on vacation to other places too.

Yah, I don't think I've seen her here lately. Anyway, if we don't have that IT before the first week of June, I'll ask for her help. I love traveling and it's a way for us to have a break from our ordinary, routinary but stressful work lives. I hope you could travel some time soon, too!

That's right. Medicine is very expensive and you need to really save up for that. But, it will be worth it when she gets to be a doctor! Then you'll know it was all worth it. Still, I wish that one day you'd be able to go on vacation somewhere.

I really would love too also. But we have to set our priorities, and topnotch on the list is our daughter's medical studies' expenses.
She keeps asking us , what would be the first country that we would like to visit, if ever. I told her Canada, because that's where most my friends are.
Oh yes, i would like to visit Iloilo too, someday and i hope it will be soon.

I miss Iloilo so much! We went there without an itinerary. When we arrived there, we saw a blog site that contains all the local food that Iloilo has to offer. We just followed it and ate as many as we could. We stayed there for 4 days (1 night in Iloilo and 2 nights in Guimaras). And that is the first time I traveled out of town and just spent less than PHP5,000 for all of the expenses.

We could do that but my friend likes to be organized before a trip. Well, that is to save time. We travelled once without an itinerary and we (she, rather ) always slept late because the planning had to be done at night. I guess that Iloilo is really like a food mecca in the visayas so that's one thing we're checking out. Also, we would like to go to Guimaras, too. And probably Antique or any place nearby. Our trip lasts 5 days (7 including travel to and from days) so I think we could cover a lot.
Neat, I'm looking forward to spending less on this trip!
