We have so much stuff to get rid of especially clothes, bags and shoes. So, me and my daughter decided to have a garage sale tomorrow. This will be our first garage sale. hehehehe I contacted some of my friends to come by tomorrow and look for the stuff, and they are coming! Yay! I hope we will make some money out of it so that we can buy a new stuff. Did you ever had a garage sale? How did it turned out?

My sister has an ongoing garage sale. She owns a printing shop and she puts a "garage sale" sign with an arrow pointing to the back of her shop where she nicely displays all her garage sale stuff. She does quite well with it; her friends and relatives even put some stuff there where my sister would charge a percentage of the sale price when they are sold.

My sister is able to do hers successfully because I think she is a very meticulous person. She runs her own shop and yet able to keep track of all her garage sale stuffs as well. Even those who put stuff in her garage sale sometimes forget or do not care enough about their items; but my sister would have all the notes with exactly what the items are and how much they were sold for each of the items owners.

We haven't done it so far. But also planning to. Well, since we are renovating the house, means more old stuffs must be thrown aways or of course have to be sold rather than throwing. It's better to have money despite of all the things instead of throwing them just like that. Back when I was younger, we used to sell books out but it was very far away from home when we used to sell it. We also donate old clothes to church or to those who are needy who are just passing by our house. It's a good feeling to help even in small ways. I hope you'll have many customers and to have it sold out. I also hope me and my family would have the same as well.Good luck on selling!

Thanks annavi. We used to give away our old stuff too, but now, we are thinking of selling it so that we will have money to buy a new one. I know it won't be a lot of money, but atleast, we will make some. :-)

So, how's the garage sale going? Have you had customers and how much have you gained? I hope it's worth it...

Congratulation and good luck to both of you. Having a garage sale is one of the best way to earn money from things that we don't need anymore. I hope you dispose all those old stuff and get enough money for your desired new things. Good luck

good luck for you. It's a very good idea ..it's better than we keep it, because it will not be useful

I've had one yeard sale in my life and I only made $25. I was disappointed because I was hoping to make a lot more, and I had a lot of stuff to get rid of. I was also happy because, hey, at least I made something!

I have my first garage sale when I was graduating from college. I had a lot of things that I need to dispose since I am already graduating at that time and planning to move into a new place. It turned out to be successful because I invited my classmates and friends from school as well as my relatives. It was a sold out event and others are still requesting for another run of sale. I am happy with the way it turned out because I was able to gather a lot of cash to buy new things. Good luck on your garage sale!

Wow, how I wish I can also have that garage sale here in our home too. I also have things that are of no use but messing around my closet. Not only dress but also some other things. That is a very good idea for with that, at least you can use the money earned to buy new stuff. :-)

I'm not even sure if in my country it is legal to have one, I guess if I wanted to have one, I had to go to different offices to get permissions and stuff... I hate bureaucracy. And I needed to find a place, as I'm living in an four-story apartment building, in a flat, with no garage. But I'd love to have one, I love the vibe that comes off of the American films on TV about these garage sales! There are some exchange bazaars organized by different organizations, I love those, actually... that's like a bigger garage sale. You can bring the stuff in you want to get rid of, you get coupons for that (sometimes if you bring a more valuable stuff in, you get more coupons), your stuff is brought in the bazaar, and for your coupons you can take anything. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's really rare, because they are paying for everything with their own money, and renting a place is just crazy, when it comes to the prices...
