Okay so my family qualifies for WIC, are lower income and we have 3 kids 4 2 and 1. I have been on WIC before but I started working again so we got off of it but I quit my job because we both decided the home is where I belong while the kids are small. I feel guilty about wanting to get back on it though. We make it but barely and it would just be nice to have some help. Does anyone else have this problem or any ideas for me?

I would use WIC if it will help you out. I am on foodstamps and beleive me at first I did not want to go this route. Randy is unable to work and I need to be home with him right now. The foodstamps have been helping me buy healthier food. Before being on foodstamps I was lucky if I was able to eat twice a day. Randy is Type 2 diabetic and he needs to eat fruits and vegetables and believe me if it were not for the food stamps I might not be able to afford fruits and vegetables. I have no problem with people getting help if they need it, however it bothers me when people abuse the system.

I think that you should reapply for it as with WIC you will be able to be a bit more comfortable financially. It's about being comfortable financially as well and so do what needs to be done.

It doesn't matter what others want its what you want. If you feel your need it and you qualify there is nothing wrong with going back on it. I've been using WIC now for 2 years. I had with my first pregnancy, then my daughter was just one it and now we are both on it and I'm every sure that my son will be on it as well. We are going to keep using it till we don't need it any more. It does save us a lot of money with Milk which is a lot when you got a 1 year old they go through a gallon really quick. Spending money on milk gets expensive we barely make it 4 weeks before the next set of milk comes in so we do have to dip in to mine to get more milk which is fine because I'm not a big milk drinker. It saves on the little things we need for food. If my husband get's a pay raise a few more times I think we will be out of the ranger where we can get WIC.

There is nothing wrong with needing a little help. It is wrong when you abuse the system which so many people do. Your children will grow up better since you are at home with them everyday. If WIC will help and you are in the income brackets there is nothing to feel bad about. They are just helping you with milk, bread, cheese, etc. I would use it if i were you and I could. Obviously you deserve the help if you fall within the limits.
