Well, some people here are quite religious...
but i noticed that no matter how they preach, they cannot even use what they have "learned" no matter how good they are in preaching.
What i mean is there is this family here who are into such, they preach A LOT yet now we know they have a drift with one of their sons, fighting and such and now they are not speaking. holding grudges, keeping the PRIDE.
Which i find it funny because they preached before that you should not hold grudges and keep pride, lower it as Jesus resides in you!!! but what are they doing? tsk tsk tsk.
now when they are preaching i do not believe anymore. as their actions does not speak it.

Hi jazel
Preaching never implied that the preacher follows what s/he preaches. It is the conscience of the preacher which tell to follow before preaching..
This one in particular, I think believes in - Preach and heal the world... and "I am above the world" thing

I’m wondering if this is more a human trait than a religious one. Certainly what is being said can be true but what we do is “preach” about everything.
Clean up the dishes after you eat but then on a suprise visit see them sitting in the sink or counter or even still on the table.
Preaching without example is common don’t you think? You better read the faq’s and guidelines.

hi jazel__juan I have met people like that, and one time when we were really having problems, a lady from our own church s aid this to myhusband as she Held out a sack of food,"I am n ot doing this for you, but because its my Christian Duty" with a sneer and a scowl. My husband then said" no thanks I do not want to cause you so much pain." and refused to take it. The pastor who was really a neat person took the sack and handed it back to my husband" please take this as I know you folks are going through a rough time. and Garland,I have found a job for you too." my husband took the sack and the information for the job as he knew our pastor was a real Christian. So when I have helped others I never use that term Christian duty as its demeaning. either I am going to help or not help, but not lie about it.The
people you speak of are just doing their "Christian Duty" said with a sneer.
My grandpa used to say "some people do not practice what they preach, bah down with them." He was a really intelligent old man and I loved him so much. He was a real Christian as he did practice what he preached.Yes definitely people are funny and its so easy for some to preach but they have a hard time really being C hristian.

AWWW the lady said that? that is quite annoying. I mean she says it is her christian duty yet it is not sincere from her heart? did she even learn something from all the times she was in church?
i have met several people that way as well which is disappointing as everything they supposed to learn in the church is wasted.

It's weekend my dear and let's have some fun
Actually, I also observed the same thing.
Most people who keeps preaching and judging others are the ones who keep dark secrets.
Most people who criticize other people easily are the ones who have lots of shortcomings.
People who claims they are righteous enough are the ones who are doing bad things secretly.
Pretenders in short- there's a lot of them so please can you help me with my eyebrows (opppsss....I am getting bad) hehehehe
(hayy...minsan nakakataas talaga ng kilay di ba )

The problem with preaching is that one has to set as the example. I know someone who is like that. All i can advise you is to ignore what they do. No one is infallible.

Yup went to a few of those churches. Actually grew up in them.
Not no more.
But we have to remember even a minister, priest, nun, all those we looked up to for comfort and help they are humans too. Mortal man no matter what they have learned is simply that. And the Bible tells us because we are just that we will stumble. But get back up and start over.
That is the one blessing God has given us if we are truly wanting to follow in his footsteps.
Could tell many stories of all the so called Bible thumpers as they were called back in the 1950's and 60's. Some quite comical when you think about it LOL.
Have a good day.

I know people like that too. They preach about high morals, but when they get in the situation they judge, they just keep silent. I wonder if they learn from it. It's so easy to judge something until they experienced it on themselves. I rather trust those people who don't preach, just their lives as best as they can serves as a good example.

It seems that most of us are in agreence, people hardly every follow what they preach. I personally believe that religion is juat a way to be suprior for some, but not for all! I mean no offence but I have come across some really nasty religious people whom preach love and peace but they are racist and feminist. How can you preach love if you have hate in your heart? That's why, I truly believe that the best things done in life are never talked about. Like the smile passed on to one who is dispair, or the helping hand offered only with a smile. Words are over rated and meaningless anymore.
