children outside asking for money to buy food

there are about 2 or 3 children than would knock on our gate and our neighbor's gate also asking for plastic containers and other containers that they can sell for money. so they asked me again this day. they are quite persistent as i try to ignore their voice when they call from outside. but they would usually shout louder. so i would just go out and try to look for something to give them. i do want to help that is why i give them some plastic container although i know it is not enough. but i have some hesitation to give money. as i don't know if that would have negative effect if i give money. i feel that i am trying to make them dependent on other people which i don't want to happen. i also want them to learn how to live normally and not just ask for money. but there is nothing i can do since i don't think their family are able to provide for them. but i don't give money anyway. i don't actually know them. i don't know where they came from. all i know they just show in our door every day.

i know how you feel that sometimes i you also can't just ignore them and that we also have to help them. but sometimes, we don't know how and where they are using the money. maybe you should just not show up when they come back next time because i think they are also being dependent on you.

there are a lot of children like that on the street where i usually walk from and to home. Tese kids seemharmles but ithink they already know who gives to them like every time i see them they would really follow me and wont stop asking every time. Haaay in my opinion it os okay to give them but if it becomes rwgularly then i would mind already. If yhey only ask for petbottles thats okay... I am throwing them away so might as well give it to the kids. Id be bothered if they keep on asking for money.

all i can say is, it is not bad to give and to help, but maybe one or twice would be enough, in your case it is everyday already time to think specially that you do not know them, their history and background. maybe they really need your help or abusing your help. we do not know.
