What is it with the Blue Danube being played while showing stuff floating in space? I guess it's supposed to be some sort of tribute to 2001: A Space Odyssey. I heard that the scene is supposed to represent two waltz dancers coming together. Well, I think it sort of fits, because the music almost reminds me of floating or bouncing.
If anyone knows that scene from A Space Odyssey, write about what you think.

I absolutely hate that movie. And yet I've seen it three times. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that Blue Danube got associated with space because it wound up in the spaceship scenes in 2001: A Space Odyssey. It's not just one scene if I recall correctly, there's a break between two separate sequences that both play the Blue Danube. It's kinda dull, if you ask me, just spaceships floating around and people showing off their special effects budget. Fun fact, Blue Danube and the rest of the Classical music in 2001 were never meant to be the final soundtrack, but Kubrick got attached to the temporary soundtrack and didn't want a new one composed.
