We will be getting a triple celestial treat from above this May. Tonight we can witness the Super Moon and the Eta Aquarid meteor shower. Here is a great well did video explaining what we will see and why from the super moon: http://www.mercurynews.com/science/ci_20551541/super-moon-shines-saturday-night?source=most_emailed. It's just 3:34 minutes long. I hope we don't get no surprises some people are predicting earthquakes, tidal waves, and people going crazy.

It has been proven scientifically that the moon does has an effect upon human behavior. So, the werewolf may be a myth but there is true to the primise.

I hope so and actually seeing your post has reminded about with about 10 mins. to go before it is supposed to be beat here. I have seen similar ones in the past as well as other things such as meteor showers, solar eclipses(viewed indirectly) and a great lunar eclipse that I got some great photos of with a telescope a long time ago. I have even seen the green flash at sunset, this was in Hawaii and was so brief that a blink would have meant missing it; I was very lucky to have seen it.

I'm disappointed. After being totally clear all day some high clouds have moved in with the thickest being where the moon is supposed to be and there is nothing to see.

Me and my kids will be out with the telescope tonight I love celestial events like this There has already been an increased number of larger (4.0 or greater) eathquakes today than normal we will have to wait and see about tidal waves and as far as people going crazy goes...... they are already there and have been that way for a long time LOL

One thing I can positively guarantee anyone who wants to see an astronomical event: the moment it is mentioned, the Gods of British Weather will decree that the night shall be cloudy and you'll see nothing at all. Doesn't matter what it is, if it's something magnificent it has to be long-lasting like Hale-Bopp or no one will get a look-in.
