Hey! fellow myloter's who loves to cook!
I am sure each one of us buys a luxury item/ingredients due to being impulsive or just plain curios on how they would enhance or make our food taste better, others would buy it for the love of great food and there expertise on using such ingredients. Luxury ingredients that can be used during emergency situation like a friend who suddenly arrived or a quick pampering for yourself for doing a great job at your work or just a family dinner and you want it to be sumptuous and luxurious at the same time. But when I say luxury it doesn't mean the most expensive ingredient, condiment, sauces, or spices but rather what our money can afford and those we call it luxury to our self. For me I would consider my olive oil, butter,Parmesan cheese, cooking wine, spices, dried tomatoes (I make my own), and the good old rock salt and black pepper as my luxury items in my pantry.
so fellow myloter's what are some of the luxury ingredients you buy and use to make your simple dishes more extravagant and delicious?
ohhh and a tip don't just use them on special occasion use them with joy! They will spoil if you don't; besides wouldn't using them make any meal a special event?

I always cook with real butter, not margarine. I use real virgin or extra virgin olive oil. I agree with you on seasonings, and fresh fruits and vegetables whenever possible. I like to always have several types of nuts on hand and dried fruits to make my own granola or to add to other things that I cook.

Sadly, I can't cook without broth.
I think that's one of the most important ingredients in all the food that I cook. I can't really say that I'm an expert but it seems that whenever I don't have that, the taste would be bland and I wouldn't be happy of the meal I prepared.
Butter is not anymore essential to me, Olive Oil is optional as well (except for roasted chicken), and of course Salt and Pepper will never be missed out.
Onion and garlic should be on hand too.
Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

I guess I am just to ordinary to recognize luxury cooking
items...I just cook with regular ingredients...I use butter
because don't like oleo but I don't consider it luxary,,
Its probably because I just cook for me and I only cook
what I want when I want it....nothing unordinary.. I am
easy to satify....

I never leave a shop without ensuring I have the following items: large container of Greek Yogurt, double cream. It is good for you. The nuts I grind to have with the yogurt; pecans, almonds, pumpkin seeds, flax seed, walnuts - no cashews. My breakfast is brain food - the ground nuts and seeds on top of the yogurt. I also have to have a Magnum ice cream two or three times a week. I buy a package of six magnums in the smaller size. Last, I must have a Kitkat. To be sure the ice cream and Kitkat have sugar, but I can't be good all the time.
