Making a checklist before heading to market is advantageous for me. You can save time and energy because you will not spend time anymore while your already in the market thinking what are lacking. But sometimes when i just do a few grocery i just rely on your memory sort of practicing from forgetfulness.

Haha, that happens to me as well!! I go to buy a specific item that I need and if I don't write it down, I might come back home with lots of other things just to realise that I forgot to buy the one item that I wanted to get!

I never leave the house without my list. I would be lost without my list. I also have a rule if an item is not on my list then it does not get bought. I remember when I first moved in with Randy and his mom (sadly, she now gone) and I wrote out a list. Randy laughed at me and his mom said smart thinking. Well, to matters worse Randy had forgotten to write down that we needed milk and when I came home he said, you didn't buy milk, how come. I said well, it was not on my list and if you knew we needed milk you should have written it down. I leave the list on the counter on purpose so people can things down.

I alway's make a list before I go grocery shopping, that way I know what I need. also this way I only get what is on my list and nothing else, save's me money. I also save time because I won't have to think of what I need all ready have it written down on a list. I can get in and out of the store quickly.

You rely on my memory??
Well I have to say I am flattered but really my memory is bad (just making fun, no offense intnede,d you said "your" instead of "my".
In any case, I work for a grocery store, and I've made lists before but they don't help me at all.

Actually I don't worry about a grocery list because I do all of my grocery shopping online and have them delivered to my house. One of the greatest advantages of shopping online is that I do it from home, so I can easily go and check if there is something I need. I usually rely on my memory when I do fill out the list, but sometimes my memory fails me, at which point I go check the cabinets and see what it may have been. When I used to shop at the grocery store the list was my best friend, as I could not go back home to check what I may have missed.

Practicing remembering is a good brain tease for sure. ANother good idea before going grocery shopping for the big haul is to eat first. That way you are not hungry and more apt to buy things you don't really need. I like to be organized with a grocery list and with tummy full before I go.

Just like you my friend, i always have a checklist with me before i go shopping.
That way, i am able to shop in a short time and sometimes , once i am able to have them all already, i would try to canvass for some not so needed things.

I always make a list before going to the supermarket! If I don't have a list with me, I will forget most of the things I wanted to buy and I will come back home with so many useless stuff that I will regret not making a list first! :P
Two rules that I usually follow are: Never go to the supermarket when you are hungry and always have a list!

yes, you are right, before heading to the market, i must write down a checklist first, the first reason is that i scare i forget to buy something that is needed, the second reason is that i don't want to waste my time, just as what you mention above =) for me, i not so like to go out if i don't have a proper target, so everytime i go out, i will check all the things i need first =) this can save more time =)

My husband always yells at me to make a list before going grocery shopping, but I never do. I'm perfectly happy just going up and down each isle grabbing what I think we need. My bad!

There are more than enough reasons to warrant making a list before going grocery shopping. When you have a list you go straight to the products and food items and don't veer from your course. This saves you from unnecessary buying. Another good reason for a list is that you will not forget those items that most people forget to buy, such as cleaning agents or hair coloring. You might also put a big one on the list, 'eat before you go shopping' for often when we are hungry we will have a desire for chocolate or something sweet and spoil our lunchtime or suppertime appetite. The best time to shop also is when you have eaten; you won't buy unnecessary cakes and sweets.

I always make a shopping list before I go to the market(s). Usually just writing things down on it will make me remember what I want to get. Also, a list is a good way to cut down on impulse buying so you will only get what you need and to stay within a budget
