ugh, what a season, full of poor mediocre performances and underachievement, we spent 100mil since the last calender year with many Liverpool fans hoping to gain fourth from the transfer ordeal. I think most Liverpool fans are frustrated by the lack of composure from the Liverpool players this season and the glory days look even further away than before.
Sitting Eighth place with the worst case scenario being only to finish tenth, seriously something needs to change in the Liverpool Personnel and Squad.
We went from having Alonso and Mascherano in our midfield to Spearing and Henderson, personally two players that have brought nothing to the plate the whole season, Henderson being worse provided we paid 20mil for his services.
Here are my good points and Bad points of Liverpool's season;
Good points
-Two cup finals and finally a long awaited trip to Wembley.
-Carling cup winners finally ending a 6 year drought.
-Suarez's behaviour has improved.
-Carroll is starting to show promise over the last couple of weeks (despite still having a flop season).
-Raheem Sterling finally making a debut.
-Improvements of Skrtel in defence.
-Beating the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City and rivals such as Everton, always pleases the Liverpool fans.
Bad Points
- The big money signings in the summer failed to deliver any promises they made when joining Liverpool FC (Adam,Henderson,Downing,Carroll)
-The wasting of talent in the reserve squad the likes of Suso and Raheem Sterling deserve chances, suso looks like a little Alonso and deserves a game, if anything better than Shelvey and Spearing.
-Kenny Dalglish's promised the fans a cup double but his team shown lack of determination and poor composure for the first 60 minutes of the final, we only started to play good football when Carroll scored, too little too late.
-Lost Lucas a key player midway through the season, he was a big loss for the season and i hope he recovers soon we need him asap.
I think we really need to spend our cash in the right way, comolli is gone thank god, so we should start to get some good players in.

The problem with Liverpool is that they do not have a proven goalscorer in their ranks. While Suarez is a good player, he is more of a playmaker than a goalscoring. How many times have we seen Liverpool getting tons of chances but failed to score? It does not help that Liverpool have spend 100millions pound on reinforcement. Lets face it. Liverpool and KD had over-paid for average players. Unless they rebuild, mid-table is where they will be.

even though I am a United fan I agree with all your points here. It just doesn't seem right for Liverpool to be in the mid-table many bad choices in the summer resulted in a poor season, plus Gerrard had a rough year with lots of injuries which kept him back and did fully recovered his form till now. I kind of think that even if Dalglish is respected by all Liverpool fans I have to say that in some matched the team doesn't seem to have a specific style of play which usually results in the manager's fault. I just hope that next year there would be the right choices and we'll have a 5 or 6 teams race for the title (well I hope Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham would be good too) and not a 2 teams race.

I agree it has not been a great season for Liverpool this year. In fact, it was poor except for the Cup runs and the Carling Cup. Two things really seem to raise the eye brows. First their home form which has been terrible to say the least. At the start of the season they were drawing matches at home, now they are losing matches at home. The fortress called as Anfield has become a minefield of the home team now.
The second thing is what you have mentioned, the big money signings have simply not come to party. I think the key is most of these signings were good players in mediocre teams and when the ask on them was to perform at a higher level consistently and day in an day out, they got exposed. For Adams, Henderson and Carroll, Liverpool is the first big club they have played at. While from time to time players step up, but expecting three players to step up was just asking too much in my opinion.
But one good thing about the FA Cup was that this is the best that I have seen Carroll play in a Liverpool shirt. If this performance starts to lift him to justify his price tag, then Liverpool would dramatically improve.
Cheers!

Interesting post and I would have to agree on the points you made. It would have been a compensating season for Kenny Dalglish if they had won the FA Cup final against Chelsea yesterday afternoon at Wembley. It was only after when Andy Carroll came on that Liverpool was able to mount a fighting chance back into the game.
Lucas is a good player and so is Charlie Adam whom Liverpool both lost midway through the season to injuries. Adam was impressive at the start of the season. Spearing and Downing, however, have only made average performances.
Another player who played well yesterday as Jose Enrique who made crucial runs.
