Did you check on several diets before starting one?

I have always wanted to be slimmer and years ago I followed for some days up to a couple of weeks any diet that came with a migazine. After I finished the diet, I would eat twice as much. Lately, as I had to be on a certain diet because of the chemo and then go easy on some foods, I started to look in the web for diet alternatives. I found out that the Mayo Clinic has a wonderful site that explains different diets and even gives recipes. After reading about several, I decided to give it a try to the Mediterranen diet. The weight loss is slow, but it stays. Are you fond of any special diet? Do you diet at all? Share your experiences here, please

I have a new diet that I start every month. I listen to Doctor OZ and try the products that i see on there. I have started losing weight after doing a lymphatic drain (cleanse).

What exactly is a lymphatic drain? I have heard of that as words, but I don´t know what it means. I´m glad it has worked for you.

It is when you have swollen glands like your Thyroid and this cleanse allows the thyroid to work better so you can lose weight. i went to see a Naturopathic doctor who told me about the cleanse. Lost 8lbs so far without exercise.

I have tried many diets in my life. I even had a collection of diet books for awhile back in the 80's. But I learned that just eating healthy and finding little tricks to add to it is the best. Like eating 5-6 snack/meals every day. Helps your metabolism. I've learned alot of little tricks along the wayl Three years ago I was on a pretty strict diet and exercising 1-2 hours per day. I was devoted to it and did lose. Slow but sure. I don't think 'diets' per say work. They are just fads and people don't stick to them. Where healthy eating habits work much better.

Yes, eating several times a days helps with the digestion too. I am not usually very active so the exercise daily was helpful to me.

I have heard many times that eating a little several times a day makes you slim down. I could not possibly exercise so many hours a day. not when I was young, not now. But leading an active life helps.

hi marguicha, I must say that years ago, I think I tried a diet of two, but I just don't believe that diets alone work... Every since Opera Winfrey lost so much weight, down to a size 10 and then within a couple of months or so she was back to her original weight plus more..no thank you,,with the diets... Good luck to you!!!!!

That´s what I like about the Mediterranean diet. You lose about a pound in a month, but don´t gain it later. Those diets where you lose so much weight are unnatural.

Hello! I've tried one diet regimen few months ago and it worked for me, I think. I had full breakfast, little lunch and had vegetables and fruits for dinner. I learned about it from my brother who said that it will really trim down your unwanted fat belly. Here now, I'm going to share some tips he shared to me. The important thing about starting a diet is to PLAN. That's the first step. Plan what to eat for a specific time of the day and follow it. A change of diet needs time and dedication to it, he said. To make it a habit, follow the diet for the next 21 days. If it works for you then you can do it all throughout the next months or years to come. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to follow it. I only had 14 days for that diet because we attended lots of family gathering lately. BUT, I'm still going to try it next time!

The diet I follawed allowed for one day each week to eat all you wanted. Funny, but after some time it seems your tummy shrinks and you don´t want so much.

Hi marguicha, i already tried some diet recipes that found in internet, some are effective and works well but some are not, instead of losing weight it ends up gaining weight. Until i decided to consult to a registered dietitian who assess my BMI and made a plan for my daily food which i followed for a month and it is very effective. Most of the food are high in protein, fibers and antioxidant. Also one thing i recognized by following this diet my skin become lighter and pimples free.

The diet you are describing sounds very similar to the Mediterranean diet I follow. This diet gives me a day a week to eat as I please so anxiety is not as terrible.

Hi I am in the diet right now, and watch a lot of you tube advice lol, the idea to haven't gain is to be active and burn what we eat, and if we lessen the the calories we intake plus we exceed the activities of our body then it will bur more calories resulting to weightloss

What diet are you following? Where did you get it? Are you helped by a nutritionist? I agree with you about activity although we don´t have to overdo it.

My grandmother did the Mediterranean for a while and really liked it. The only draw back is that it takes a longer preparation time than others. She would end up making a roast or steak on the weekened and then cutting up leftovers for lunches during the week. Some people are fond of the packaged food diets since it is all there ready to go...drawback being taste and expesne. I have never known liquid or shake diets to work too well. The main thing, esp. since you are on chemo is to make sure that you keep a balance of minerals and vitamins. I recommend having an ensure shake for breakfast or part of lunch for this.
