I love listening to old songs. They bring up memories of my childhood and the past. There are even times that I get emotional whenever I heard a song. One is “Dance with My father Again” because it reminds me of my father who are already with God. Songs of the 90’s remind me of my highschool years like the dance song “Always” and it reminds me of the dance group Universal Motion Dancer. Songs really bring up a lot of memories of the past right? Did you feel the same way too? I love to read about other songs that marked a memory to you.

Any songs will remind you of what happened in the past because you often heard or listened to it in that period of time. I think not only song but others will make you remember your past.

That's true, they bring back memories, good or bad. Those who remember their sad memories will only cry because of the pain that they experienced that were brought back by the song while those that are good will bring back smiles. How I wish only good memories will come not the sad ones.

everyone wants to look back on good memories and yes, we have a song for every memory that we make. in my case, the way you look tonight is the song that would remind me of my dad. when i was in high school, we used to sing that every night. songs of dashboard confessional reminds me of my crazy college days and how fun it was.

Sometimes I feel the same too. When I listen to the old songs specially on those famous songs in a certain year in my younger life, it made me remember some events that had happened before. Sometimes it also made me remember old places and old people.

There are so many songs that bring up memories for me. Daughtry's "It's Not Over" is one, the second is Evanescence "My Immortal", and I can't listen to "Remember Me This Way" without completely losing it.

Yes, they do. My dad just passed away recently, too, and so Dance with my Father makes me cry. There are a lot of songs that remind me of him, too. The song he taught me first to play in a guitar ~ Puff the Magic Dragon, music of Beatles because he was a fan, "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain because I think he was my greatest fan. I also remember my childhood through the songs that was a hit then. I remember my brother and I played to the songs "How Much is That Doggie in the Window?" Of course the 80's songs remind me of my childhood, 90's high school and college. And boy bands and girl bands's songs all remind me of college, too. Sometimes, I remember a certain boy because of a certain song.

For music lovers, songs really conjure up memories. I also remember that song "Always" by Erasure. I was college freshman then. We had a Freshmen Day program and that was our batch's "anthem". All the students in the school were in the auditorium that day and a guy taught us the chorus part using UMD's steps. So throughout the program, the song will be randomly played and all freshmen are expected to stand up and dance the chorus. I never danced it, though. I was with a group of seniors so it didn't seem that I was a freshman. Hehe! Whenever I hear 311's "Amber" and "Love Song", I always remember the first time my boyfriend and I went to the beach with our friends. He was still courting me then. We would listen to it whenever we were chilling out on the shore or in our room. It was our group's favorite songs then. And very appropriate since we were on the beach.

Yes, I feel the same way too. But I dont have any particular song in mind that I always listen. I have file of song that I like and randomly play and listen to it whenver I am mad, sad, or in pain. The louder the music the more emotional I got and before I knew it tears are falling down from my eyes.(I do this and keep myself busy) By the time that the last song will be played, my emotion subside and I feel a little relief. Every song have its value to me,different stories, different memories. By the way I only listen to alternative song whenever I'm in this mood.
