i do usually like to imitate the style and voices of singers. i think that is the reason why voice improved a lot. before i could hardly sing in tune when i was young. but as i get older i noticed that my voice usually on key and on tune. i would usually record my voice through my cellphone, or even by my tablet camera. and i can listen to myself sing and i noticed indeed big improvement. i can hardly believe i can much better now although it is not as good as those other people who have nice voice.

hi there hotsummer, with regard to your main topic, as for me here, i don't use the word imitate instead, i am projecting their style. as well as their moves and gestures. and in this way, i can truly say that i improve more.

Who wouldn't want to have a little fun now and then? It is often exciting to see if you are able to imitate the voices of popular actors, singers and celebrities alike. Sometimes I would compete with my group of friends and it brings us closer together. We still try it now and then because it is fun!

I think people who are interested in music mostly do this! We hum the song and having liked it we sing along with the song and having learnt the wordings and the tune we start singing the song in the same way as it was sung by the singer! I am an instrumental player and play various musical instruments! So I am keep in learning the songs and tunes! I always try to follow the song as it was heard on original track! But one thing , having read your discussion I realised is that I don't follow the song and style of the song because of the Singer but because of the tune I follow it! Many a songs which I like most I play them on the instruments but I really don't know their wordings or verses! Thus I feel it is the music and the tune that influences me better than the actual singer who sang the song! By constant practice as you say one can develop a nice voice which becomes sort of a trained one and one can sing on the scale! Karaoke music discs are best for the people like you to develop further and I think you must give a try at these discs to improvise your self! Thanks for the nice topic of discussion! I liked participating in it! Happy Mylotting and happy singing dear Hot Summer!

I don' have a good voice. So I don't used to imitate the singers but I used to imitate my teachers, actors, my friends and many political leaders and I am very happy to tell you that I had won many prizes for it.

We all have our own unique voice therefore it is wrong to imitate anyone

I don't have a beautiful voice like singers but I used to sing a lot. I used to imitate voice and the way my office mates speak that lead into laughter.
