It is always a debate what happiness is all about. Is it about fame? Or about money? Or contentment? I think it depends on a person on how do you define happiness. It is not wrong to dream big of fame, money and contentment as long as you are not being obsessed about it. A famous boxer once a poor boy then became famous because of his bravery and victory on the ring and now a billionaire and one of the most influential men in the world. But his life is surrounded with humors and controversies. His marriage even got as far as filling for annulment but thank God they survived it. Is he really happy with his life now? Is fame and money comes with a lot of sacrifices that is more heavy than when you are nobody?

Fame might be being a well known actor. The amount of money a person can go up and down depending how much he has coming in and out. Happiness is a state of mind and it does not relate to finances.
With fame comes many challenges like for the boxer that you mention. I went to Palm Beach where they film the Australian soap opera Home and Away. I saw Melissa George and Ray Meager. One actor kept having to do the same thing over and over again. It looked like he wasn't all that content or happy. One of the ladies moaned she was cold because she had to stay in her swim suit. She had to act like she was having an enjoyable time. She was told off her moaning.
Happiness is based on contentment and doing things the person likes.

Happiness for me is to be with the people you love. Having enough money to survive and make more good memories with our loved ones. I can't imagine my life living alone.

I feel that happiness does not depend on anyone else except yourself. We can be happy and content with our lives only when our mind is at peace. Moreover, finding your own happiness quotient is very important.I mean, searching for what makes us happy is primary. Anything in the world can make you happy , be it lots of money, family, friends, lover etc.

For me, more money would mean greater happiness. I love my family, but I would be happier if we did not have to live paycheck to paycheck. If we had enough money not to have to worry about paying bills, then I would be much happier overall. Its hard to be REALLY happy when you are in stress over if you will be able to feed your child or not.

Happiness is a state where you are SATISFIED with everything you got and have achieved. It is not always about the money and the fame. I guess that boxer from Philippines is happy with his life. He wouldn't bother what he is doing if he is not happy. And yes, usually you have to sacrifice something just to get something. It is like the theory of equivalent trade.

Well, it always depends on the person as what makes him or her happy. But for me, contentment in life will bring forth happiness and peace. Of course, when you have money and fame, you will surely be happy. But once you have it, and you are not content, then you will find yourself longing for happiness once again. So bottom line is, regardless if you are poor or rich, famous or not, there is no true happiness when you are not content.

a pleasant day shylade,
frankly speaking, your discussion means a lot. it is indeed, happiness cannot be measure easily. as others defines it when they have the money, while others want the fame and some are just contented in small happiness that they have in their lives. but, ask for me here, i can say that i will be more happy if i have the money. since this is the main reason why my mom recognize me. that, she always recognize my effort whenever i give her money to spend and an allowance to keep. and if ever i cannot give her money, she will not recognize any effort that i am doing. that she will just give her attention to me if ever i will give her the money she wants. so this is my consequences of not having a lot of money in my hand.

I do think that this has something to do with the eagerness of different individual. Some people even pursuing money their whole lives but some do not.The attitude determines what you gonna do in your life.So basically not all people has the problem concerning these three matters.

Happiness is the base of everything. If you see this world the successful persons are always happy , energetic and enthusiastic. You can earn money at any time in your life but happiness cannot Hence, as far as possible try to remain happy and calm. Half of the life is yours and the rest is in GOD. Never compare with others it would surely spoil you and your happiness. Try to live self contented and you can see the results. Be positive always. FOCUS ON MAIN THING INSTEAD OF WASTING YOUR time on some silly things. Dont waste the time. Fame would follow you if you follow these features.

For me, happiness is being content, living a nice, calm enough life with just a bit of excitement, to have a reliable partner by my side, one or two really good friends and... just being free and relaxed. It's not about the fame and the money (I'd lie if I said I'd be 100% happy if I had to live under the bridge, but I'm not longing for billiuon s of dollars).

Fame and money is nice to have, but it is fleeting and don't bring you happiness which is contentment in your heart. Money can bring you joy for a time but if you have no God consciousness, it will not last long. We need money yes to buy food and protect our families, but what really brings joy is to have a good conscience and to do things which are good for the soul like being generous and kind and always having time for people. As for fame it is fleeting, and after a while your fans forget all about you.

learning from the nature - different kinda stuff(living or non-living) different kinda attributes and behaviors they possess. Some find mental peace a branched definition of happiness , some find money a route to happiness and some find fame. What i feel is certainly for me money comes first. I mean for the average Joe the first thing that occurs to him is bucks.money is simply needed for survival. In this world thats ruled by the policy of survival of the fittest money i think is the single most crucial factor to happiness.mental peace, satisfaction can come thereafter. I find fame absurd as of now. Who knows what the things would turn out to be after college. So for me - MONEY.(No intention of offence to anyone who disagrees)
