The time has come for one remaining match to be played in the Barclays Premier League.
Having beaten Newcastle in a 2-0 thriller, Manchester City has the advantage of superior goal difference in the standings. They have star player Yaya Toure to thank after his goals helped them defeat Newcastle.
As for the other favourite and reigning Champions Manchester United, they, too, beat their opponents Swansea 2-0 and need a thrashing against Sunderland in their last match to overcome Man City's superior goal difference.
With Man City's last match against Queen Park Rangers, which is your favourite team to win the Barclays Premier League and why?

Manchester City is the red hot favorite to win the EPL title. With their last deciding match against lowly Queens Part Rangers, what possibility would they fail to beat a team they beat 3-2 away last December and lying on the 16th in a 20 team league with a minus 22 goal difference while they themselves is the number one team with a whopping positive goal difference of 63?
Mark Hughes, the current QPR manager, is a former Manchester United player, as well as a former Manchester City manager where he was sacked so unceremoniously. His QPR is in need of at least one point from its last match to secure their survival from the relegation fight. So Hughes does have a need to do well and a bone to pick with his former employer. What if he plays an all-defense formation like what Chelsea did against Barcelona? Djibril Cissé and DJ Campbell are pacey strikers. They are useful in counter attacks while the likes of Joey Barton will kick the anyone who comes his way. A draw is what they will take and attempt to make.
The verdict? As a Manchester United fan, I will try to stay low key. I won't say much too loud. I will see how the favorite copes. Life can be cruel at times. The best team don't always win, like what Torres said about Barcelona.

If I am Mark Hughes, knowing the attacking power of Manchester City and playing at the Etihad, I will not play an attacking game plan like what they did at home but still lost 2-3 to Manchester City. I would have liked to do man-to-man marking but there are simply too many to mark; Aguero, Silva, Touré, Tevez and Nasri ... all are able to provide and to shoot.
I will learn from the classic Chelsea/Barcelona semi-final. I will play 4-2-3-1 (almost a 6-3-1)to defense heavily in a zone system and to hit them on the break. It is not pretty. But there is no beauty in a Championship team especially if you just come down from above. To survive now and to fight another EPL season starting in August is the thing they have to do.

Nice post! Yeah I definitely agree that Mark Hughes and his team will give a fight after his unceremonious sacking from Manchester City and he wouldn't be too happy after he seen how much support his successor Roberto Mancini is getting from the owners.
As for his team Queen Park Rangers, this is also a crucial match for them to guarantee their post in the league and they wouldn't want to leave when they have just been performing well in the league as with newcomers Norwich. I wouldn't think that Hughes will select a defensive team, probably one that will latch onto the counter attack. Moreover, Alex Ferguson has voiced his support for Mark Hughes, a player who formerly played for the Man United manager.

Yeah the match against Newcastle was a challenging one. I must say Newcastle did their best though they were unable to stop former Barcelona player and now Man City's star player Yaya Toure from lifting his side to a 2 goal win. His first shot on place was almost perfect, spotting a nice curl before hitting the net. Though the keeper saw the shot, he was unable to do much. Go Man City!

My favorite to win the title is Man City. Especially of the clinical disposal of Newcastle last weekend, they are really focused for this title. Of course, they face an opponent who is fighting for premier league survival in QPR and that could make the fight a bit tougher for them. On the other hand, Man United can simply play with gay abandon as the only way they can have a chance is to win the match.
Cheers!
