No Icing on my Biscuit!

So, I was making my way ferociously through a packet of Cafe Noir biscuits (they have a lovely coffee icing on 'em that I can't get enough of and it was a comfort food day), when I suddenly came across one that had no icing?! I was outraged!... Well, I was a little annoyed that I wasn't going to be able to enjoy that one biscuit. Being as bored as I was, I decided to look up the web address on the pack. Off I went and sent the company a polite message telling them that I was very disappointed to find that one of my delicious biscuits had no icing on them. Despite the doubting Thomas in the armchair next to me telling me that it was a pointless overreaction, they soon mailed me back asking me for the batch no., best before date and where and when I bought it. So I diligently mailed back all of the details that they asked for and 'hey presto'! A number of days later I received... A €3.00 voucher off any of the company's products to be used in any retailer! Delighted. How about you? What's the last thing you complained about and got a freebie out of?

Yes Apparently you either get a coupon or a new product itself. I've had to report a fault in a waxing product and got a whole new one for it.

Wow TheIrishClog! Congratulations! Your effort paid off, to say the least! Anyone who says boredom is a pointless emotion should have this information shoved in their noses, hahaha. If I'd been in your situation, I probably would have just gobbled up that biscuit without a second thought, to avoid all the hassle. But, as I said, your decision was one that was wise, and obviously well worth the time and energy spent. Moreover, it seems boredom can be quite a motivator. Just out of curiosity, did they tell you if there were other biscuits that had been 'icingless'? Possibly in the same batch? And you might have guessed this from my previous words, but I haven't yet complained about anything like that. Hmmm... I'd like to see what the next such opportunity offers, and I just might take a leaf out of your book haha. Congratulations again, and I hope you enjoy the use of the voucher!

Take the bull by the horns Vvance and make your complaint! :) No, they did not tell me any further information. They simply described the process and how quality control is very tight and they were very sorry that I found a biscuit with no icing and here's your voucher. Very nice and polite. Let us know how you get on next time!

i once a bug in my Lipton's cup of soup packet and called and complained and Liptons sent me a voucher for a new box (which contains 5 or 6 pouches). sort of gross, but at least the company was good enough to do it.

Gosh, it's been years since I've complained about a product, I think. The last one I recall was complaining about pampers diapers when my now 26 yr old was just a baby. I was so broke always back then and I always bought store brand. Well, Pampers brand was on sale and I'd had a coupon so I went for the better brand and expected it to be at least and hopefully better than the store brand. It was not. The tabs to hold the diapers together were defective on almost the whole package. I was furious. I took the diapers back to where I purchased them and got a store credit but I also wrote the Pamper company to let them know that I would be sticking with the store brand in the future regardless of income or sales. I didn't expect a thing as I'd already been compensated. Well to my surprise, I did get a coupon for a free jumbo bag of Pampers. I'm guessing that they did not want me speaking ill of their product. I used the coupon and all of the diapers were fine this time around. Smart company that backs it's product!

Lets see this year I had a bottle of hair mousse that was more than half full and it wouldn't spray/foam anymore all I got was liquid. I got a coupon for a free replacement. A few years bac I got a coupon for free detergent because I had asked about them having a HE version since I liked their product. That sounds yummy with coffee flavored icing?

I really wanted to do that but in our country, some of the companies don't mind about their customers, I want to complain about those noisy employees of one of pizza restaurant that we ate and I couldn't do it because the website of that company doesn't have a contact details. I let those noisy brats go away with that. x(

It's a pity that you were not able to report the behaviour. Folks like to be able to relax and eat in peace and employees of such an establishment should respect that!
