Illuminati

From what I understand, historically the Illuminati were a secret society during the enlightenment era and I think they were into science and research. I'm not certain. There's a conspiracy theory that they still exist to this day and they own and control heaps of companies and are trying to take over the world. Something like that... obviously I haven't done much research on them recently. I think it's just a public fascination with secret groups and conspiracy theories that keep the chatter about them live.
