Need to eat better

I think I have been emotionally eating lately. I just keep eating junk and don't feel like I have had enough. Chips and cookies are the culprit at the moment. Other than this, I eat pretty healthy with the health conditions I have..but this extra bad fat, plus health problems is leading me to feel just gross inside. I can't exercise that much because of my weak muscles, but feel like I need to do somthing different to shed off these pounds I seem to have added over the past couple of weeks. Maybe I should go back to eating crushed ice...no calories after all. Thoughts?

Often eating crushed ice is a symptom of anemia. You are right both cookies and chips are bad for the amount of fats, often hydrogenated. As long as I do not eat the first one, I am fine. I would rather make home made cookies if I am going to have them, but I am too lazy. A potato is a healthy food, until you load it up with salt, artificial flavors and grease. Even fries are healthier than chips. Try to get more fresh fruits and vegetables into your diet. If you need something salty and fatty try to eat nuts or sunflower seeds. You cannot be doing yourself any favors.

You know I eat crushed ice all the time and am borderline anemic. I never put the two together.

Maybe you should ask yourself if your body has a lack of a certain kind of food. This can be the reason also why you eat more chips and cookies. Not buying it/having it in the house will be a good start, also try to find out if there are certain moments of the day you need it more/eat it more. If so try to escape from these periods/times by not being close to it, going to sleep or ...

I think in order for you to be able to change things, you need to look into the reason for the emotional eating in the first place. If you've settled and gotten the core of your problem, then I think everything else would follow. Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

I have the same problem. Maybe you can try find something that make you get yourself all into it, so you can forget about eating while you do this, something you do for your soul that's realy satisfies your emotinal needs. not just what you feel you have to do. Secondly, you can give yourself once in a while some sweet present and don't feel bad about it, do it after you end a task or every pound you lose or something like that. Good luck and Peace :)

Ouch, I think I know this too. There were times when I was emotionally eating and it was hard to replace the unhealthy foods with healthier ones... because that junk was what I craved for If otherwise we eat healthy, maybe a little bit of fat can be allowed, but only in moderation... it's better to eat fruits or nuts, but anything home made is better actually, at least we can control the amount of fat and sugar.

I don't really know your weight but usually people who have a weight problem have pretty strong muscles because they have to move their bodies. Muscles develop under the fat. Not extreme cases of course where people can no longer sustain their wight - I don't mean to offend or something I'm just saying that your muscles should be strong enough. You should try more exercises. Running is very good and you can do it at your own pace. Swimming is a good cardio exercise, maybe the best one. You can also take other classes or hit the gym. There are a lot of ways to loose weight. Of course what you eat is important but when you work out your hunger kind of goes away. Plus you are busy working out so you can't eat in the period of time. If others can do it, you can do it.

I have a muscle movement disorder of some kind...still haven't been given final diagnosis. But my muscles are atrophying so, yeah my muscles are too weak. I am not morbidly or even obese, could lose 5-10 pounds and look really lean. Just feel like I am not healthy on the inside when I am eating this stuff.

I think you can take more fruits or vegetables, which contains a lot of fibre and vitamins, those can help you reduce the intake of fat and keep your body in a good condition even without many exercise. Health food is very important, but take fat only a short period will not cause big problem.
