I did see the video and if I'd been there in person I would have walked out. I think he took it way too far. If he wasn't a racist and didn't really mean what he said, why did he yell it over and over again? I think he was caught up in the heat of the moment and said what he really thinks.

yeah i think he did go too far and shouldn't have said it even once, but when people are angry they say things that they don't mean. He realized that he had really screwed up and that is why he walked off stage. When people fight they say things they don't mean because they want to win the argument by wounding the mind of the other person. I have done that a lot. Just because the guy was African american doesn't make it any different, he was just trying to wound his mind with an insult that he knew would work.

Everybody says stuff they don't mean from time to time. The only difference is, most of us don't have a microphone and an audience in front of us to immortalize what we say.

I saw it and heard it a bunch of times on the radio. It wasn't a comedy act, he was just pissed off at the people who were heckling who happened to be African American. It is hell to be a stand-up comedian and be bombing on stage and have people mock you, and he was sick of it and so he lashed out at the person who was bothering him the most. He said things that he knew would hurt the man the most, and that was something that most people find offensive. I don't think he is racist because you can't judge somebody when they are pissed off, but he should have controlled his anger. I think his apology was good and he is very sorry for doing that.

So, he should have continued his show being heckled? When people take something personal, they usually make personal attacks. I'm not saying this is right, but it is a big part of human nature. I believe the management of the club is to blame. The hecklers should have been escorted out of there. If they'd have been mature enough to keep their comments to themselves, this wouldn't have happened. Like any disruption in a public place, the manager should have stepped in and handled it appropriately.
John Lennon and Harry Neilson were thrown out of a club for heckling the Smother's Brothers....so why were these jerks allowed to remain in the audience; disrupting the show for the entertainer AND the rest of the crowd? If one doesn't show respect, then one shouldn't expect to receive it.....
