Rainbows in the dark

When was the last time you saw a rainbow in the dark? Rainbows remind us of bright sunshine, glistening raindrops, a multi-hued arch of reflected light, clean fresh wholesome air, a feeling of contentment. It was a lazy Sunday morning and my nieces and nephews had threatened to annex my solitude that evening. To combat the little pre-teen terrorists I embarked on the making my own arsenal of WMD(weapon of mass destruction) the only one of its kind in the world known to effectively ward off such danger. ICE-CREAMS. It was in the deep freezer for well over 2 hours and yet my own curiosity made me check it out with a small scoop and the siren went off, the door bell. Surprised at the change of timing of the attack, I ventured courageously armed with my most angelic smile, to open the door to the invaders but I was in for a huge surprise. Standing outside were two kids alright, one a boy of around 6 and a girl around 10 but not the kind I was expecting. Dressed in darned but clean clothes, they were inmates of an orphanage, looking for used clothes for children of their orphanage. The kids while talking to me were eying the swing in my living room and with a knowing smile I invited them over to sit on it. The glint in their eyes when they exchanged glances when I came back from the kitchen holding two cones of Ice-cream was brighter and more colorful than the best rainbow I ever saw in my entire life. I went in and picked some clothes, put them in a carry bag and gave them when the little boy asked if he could have one more cone of icecream and then post haste added it was for the girl as she was too shy to ask. I nodded and she instantly rewarded me with a most alluring smile of pearly whites, and in my dimly lit room, it was nothing short of a rainbow in the dark.
