I never thought in my wildest dreams that I will hear an note or a tweet of apology from these band of brothers on national TV. Granted, I am not exactly a fan of them, more so when I watch a video wherein the three brothers are spouting familiar words to a particular male celebrity. Apparently, they have a program and they used tat opportunity to spout their messages (not exactly comforting or pleasing to the ear) on the guy who supposedly punched their elder brother.
After being the target of a siege by angry people (particularity, angry people's tweets), the three brothers apologized to their viewers and the persons involved or people who might felt threatened by their earlier words. It is also said that their elder brother is not happy about what they said on air.
As I said, before, I'm not a fan of them. But I think they redeemed themselves a little in my view because they manned up. It is understandable to be angry and use a platform to minister your type of justice (especially, if the said victim was a relative or family). But it's not an excuse to threaten anyone. The industry wasn't designed for that kind of service. I was particularly angry when they did their earlier piece, because it is an abuse of power as members of the media (even if they weren't member of an official group that can police them). There should be still a bit of professionalism in that industry (which is severely lacking nowadays).
also, don't fight fire with fire...or else everybody gets burned.
Personally, I don't know whether it is a sheer obligation or it was a sincere apology. But that side issue should be closed and forgotten. The main issue hasn't been resolved and there's already a case on both sides. Let the lawyers and the judge do the talking this time.

I can understand where the anger of the Tulfo brothers is coming, so i understood their feelings very well, when they said those threats. But, it should have not been broadcast, because it will also put them in hot water, with MTRCB and the station itself.
And being educated people, they know that it's best to be humble and apologize.
How come Claudine appeared limping when she went to her presscon? She was so strong, when she helped in punching Tulfo?

I think when it comes to abuse towards family members or friends, we can easily relate, no matter what station we are in life. However, we cannot simply put the law and justice in our hands as much ss we want to. I guess as a party, the Tulfo brothers felt too much emotion and being nothing to do about it just makes them more frustrated. I understand the tirade, but it unnecessary to air it in public since even teh public nor the authoritative can't get the story straight.
Anyway, they at least apologized. I duuno about Claudine. I haven't seen anything unless the interview with each party. Can't judge if it's true or just an act.

I am neither a fan of the Tulfo brothers because I often find their language offensive. With respect to their comments or threats uttered in prime time television, they seemed to have over stepped the boundaries of press freedom. They should have shown more responsibility because we are presently living in a democratic society and not where the "eye for an eye" prevails. On the other hand, Claudine Barreto and Raymart Santiago being known celebrities should have realized that being public figures, they will always catch the attention of the public and there will always be someone who is bound to take their picture. Since the pictures were taken while Claudine was berating a ground staff of Cebu Pacific, they must have been alarmed that the pictures will find themselves in the papers. Claudine has never been popular for exemplary conduct. Is this a breach of their privacy? Well, that is the price they pay for being a celebrity and should have known how to act in a good manner while in public. This issue should be over by now since both camps have given their sides of the story but it seems that media is not going to allow this case to die especially when both camps continue to trade threats and comments.

I have been an avid fan of the tulfo brothers, and i have been watching their individual shows. I sympathize with them with regard to their brother who was supposedly mauled, but on the other hand, i think with two versions on the incident and still in the process of determining what really transpired, they should have not taken their ire on live TV on the opposing party. Undeniably the tough guy image they project on TV is unsurpassed, but they seem to have lowered their self-esteem by lambasting such nasty statements.

Basically, that's my sentiment too. I respect them for the work they do because they really help people and I can't take that away form them. But In that incident, they seemed like the people they should never be. I think the angry tweets made them realize that hey are also broadcasters or media practitioners as they are brothers. Yes, it is personal but like any other professional, it's better to let the thing resolved itself before doing something drastic.

Mon does not want to make the issue greater and he let the truth prevail in the proper way.
The Tulfo brothers have this bad image of being somewhat dominators. All of them believed that they need to be strong in order to defend the abused. However, that image does not apply to Mon Tulfo now. I remember years ago when he suddenly disappeared on Philippine television, and he revealed later on that he has to stop on carrying the Tulfo "image".
Now, only Ben and Raffy fully carries that image as Erwin has already changed even when he was still hosting in the Kapamilya network.

@lady. I can hardly believed my ears and my eyes. A Tulfo apologizing? It's not that there are not capable of but it seems so not their style. I always envisioned them as tough, unapologetic and sometimes, harsh. I guess they can't help being involved but I think they should also keep in mind that they should keep a fine line between their personal and professional lives.
@alphenor I'm glad that at least the eldest brother expressed his dismay. It;'s a good act to follow especially if you and your brothers are known to have expressive ( I can;'t tihnk of a better term) when it comes to these kind of situations.
Well, they did have an 'image' to the public. I'm not saying that force isn't a good thing but I always find a lack of moderation in their part. Well, I guess there should be someone who have to carry the image, it's their main tool to be recognized.

The Tulfo brothers certainly redeemed themselves. Their hotheadedness and sometimes uncontrollable mouth seems to be their liability but inspite of this, their genuine concern for those who are aggrieved are well known.
The question now is when will the ill-mannered Claudine Barreto apologize for the verbal abuse and cussing she dealt on the poor personnel who have no fault to their delayed baggages? Its ridiculous enough that they were able to do this without being accosted by guards. In other foreign airports, you do this and you will be arrested for unruly behavior.

That's an angle that is not yet pursued. I don't know if te said employee will file charges against Claudine. I agree that in foreign airports it's not allowed to make a public disturbance but then again, we're lacking many things in our on airport. In addition, some local airlines aren't really up to the scratch.
I guess this incident also points out the problems of the airport and they should be addressed - immediately. I don't know if the airlines will also file charges but I assume they will back up their employee if even there will a form of action from Claudine.

I was expecting something like this to pop up in mylot. Although I do not wish to choose sides, I am on Mon Tulfo on this incident. Within the last 24 hours, one Anna has popped out to make a testimony which states that Mon Tulfo punched Raymart and kicked Claudine. However, a "Rose" and two other witnesses have also appeared to tell the media what they saw happened during the incident- siding with Mon Tulfo because of Claudine's big mouth and Raymart's violent nature.
What the Tulfos did was probably ego crushing and I commend them for doing a public apology because of what they said. It was definitely sincere but it was not for the Santiagos. The apology was solely meant to the public.

Well, we never really know. media companies are very sensitive to public opinion and they might have been given directive to do this. However, it is the right thing to do following the incident. At least, the public will be assured that both parties have equal footing in terms of using the media. Both camps the ropes, being in constant media attention but their battle should be in the courts now, not in the media and not involving the public.

They apologized because the management of the network gave them a sermon about what they have done on their program and Mom Tulfo too already talked to them. They ask for public apology but they did not retract what they said. For me, they should not do that because they already crossed their boundaries as news men but I also understand where they are coming from.

It is possible that the network is the one who pressed for the apology since the network is the one responsible for airing the program. I think the apology counts as a retraction but in a sense, it cannot be retracted anymore since the video of the earlier act was already recorded and shared in many sites online. Like you, I understand where they are coming from - it's just that video was a bit too much for me,.

I only have one request that ms celebrity be put to jail because of oral defamation!

But if you put that celebrity into jail, sum people are also liable to put into jail for the same crime or accusation. That way, no party can say that there is favoritism or miscarriage of justice. The sauce for the goose is also the same for th4 gander, in terms of administering justice. But of course, it will depend on the context. Let's just see and wait what will happen.

i admire the Tulfo brothers for having the courage to public apologize for what they said in the tv..Its hard to do that with their stature being known as "astig"..I think lessons can be learn from these incidence..be brave to humble yourself if u think you made a mistake..both camp should do this..

I agree on your points. Even if you don't have the 'astig' image, it's still hard to accept that you are at fault if you tihnk you were on the right side. It takes time to think and mull about it,e specially if the incident really aroused some intense feelings. As for the camp of Mon and the couple, I don;t tihnk they will apologize soon, hey will be busy in the courtrooms for that case.
