I hate having my photo taken

I absolutely hate having my photo taken, very few people get by with it, and even then I will go out of my way to avoid it, especially with this facebook age going on. If I wanted photos of me online I would put them there myself. I hate when people take such liberties as posting other peoples photos online without their permission. I've actually quit hanging out with several friends over it, it may seem petty, but it's one thing that annoys me beyond belief.

I don't like having my picture taken either, and it's particularly irksome when the photographer does it against my wishes.

I hate my photo taken too.Although I am a male, but I hate it,because I don't think my face is photogenic.Actually I have an inferiority complex about my face.My photographs were taken on many occasions and I feel ashamed to watch them.People say I look good in them, but I don't think so.My face is not photogenic and that's the only reason why I don't like to be photographed.

I can understand that. And I don't hold to the stereotypical thoughts that guys don't have problems having their pictures taken. It's not that I do not believe myself to be photogenic, because my photos are usually nice - it's just that it drives me crazy. And I think more so because I'm young enough to have grown up in the age of online posting, if they were just for friends or something I may feel better about it, but these days it seems photo never stay personal. To me photos feel like a violation of privacy.

I don't think you're petty, syramoon... I'm squarely in your corner. I detest having my photo taken and I always have, even since I was kid and before online posting of photos was so common. My daughters will jokingly take pics of me with their phones, for example, because they know it drives me nuts -- and I make them delete them. It's just how I am, good or bad, right or wrong. It's bad enough to TAKE photos without permission -- but to post them online (and even tag you with your real name) is beyond rude. I mean, if you are part of a group (say for a work seminar or something) and general photos are being taken, it's pretty hard to avoid being captured in at least some of those and you don't really have an "expectation of privacy" there anyway. But, for someone to be sitting next to you and they grab a photo for no real reason... that I dislike immensely.

It's not work so school related. If it were for a company I worked for or something, I'd most likely be okay with it. You expect those people to do something like that, but you don't expect your friends to, and to be honest I don't think we should have to worry about our friends doing such things. Now I let people like my Aunts and my Father take pictures of me when they see me, but they only see me every few years, and very few of them use facebook, and the ones that do would never post photos of themselves much less someone else. I think some of them get a kick out of it. I may be hot tempered, but I'm not above arguing over it, or walking away from a so called friendship when someone can not respect my boundaries, of my body, and identity. I'm so glad at least one other person can understand why I get so heated about it.

I have really gone out of my way to avoid all cameras like they are radioactive for at least the past ten years. My pictures really just are not something that are the most artistically appealing right to the eyes. If there are any pictures right of me online, I most certainly did not put them there, and I don't understand why anyone would.
Facebook really has undermined a lot of things, posting pictures of others online, without their permission. It has become almost acceptable to really just throw out any concept of really privacy and obviously everyone things that this is acceptable. It would be rather frustrating and I don't blame you really for cutting these ties to these people, because I would do the same.

I am like you. I really hate my pics taken. And to see one of me that I have not taken so a preview and an accept or reject decision was not allowed by me. I have posted several pictures of myself on a few networking sites online. But that was after several shots were taken and I decided that I actually liked them. I had one friend that posted one from a few years ago and it was such a total embarrasment to me. I was HUGE. I appeared to be bigger than her and her friend. I looked pushed aside out of the group. I was very upset when I saw that one. She is still my friend of course since we have been friends since we were 16.

I am not always happy about getting my picture taken. It is something that displeases me now more than ever due to technology. Someone can take your picture and if it ends up in the wrong hands, it makes one worry about the misrepresentation of his or her image. Taking pictures with family and friends are never too much trouble, but for anyone else for any reason is a major issue I have.

I am another person that really doesn't like to have my picture taken. However, I won't unfriend people because of the fact that they post pictures of me online because it is my belief that if they take the pictures, then the pictures are their property to do whatever they want to do with them.
I have to say that I am typically the one that is behind the camera, so there really are few pictures of me that are ever taken. The last time that I had my picture taken was at Christmas.

I don't have a Facebook account anymore but I do know people post photos on my husband's wall (or something) of me and him but that's fine, because I'm usually drunk and actually smiling. The photo next to this box was taken by my SIL in a Rock Club and I'm very drunk there too.
You see a pattern developing? Yes, I'm only comfortable in photographs if I'm very drunk. This is why I feel sorry for Victoria Beckham. She's an Aries like me and we can't smile for the camera when we're sober; it's impossible.
I just about managed it on my wedding day but the photographer admitted it was tough getting me to loosen up lol.

syramoon--
welcome to mylot. You have fixed views and you are right. I am also of the view too much screening of one's photos especially women on internet etc. should be avoided. It is because technology is advanced nowadays and photos may be put to not right use.
Yes. you decide and put photos in closed circles not accessible by all. good day,
