Mistakes from fast typing!

Typing on computer - Mistakes made when typing fast

I have noticed that when I respond to question, I usually make the same mistakes from typing quickly! For example, many times I type "a" instead of "e" and this is a constant error. Another mistake that I make is that I might press the keys on the keyboard in a different order, so for example instead of writing "have", I am writing "ahve". I have never taken any typing lessons and I make a lot of mistakes like that, especially when I am thinking the next word while I am typing! I would be interested to know what are the common typing errors other people do more often when they are typing very fast!

For myself, it's Dyslexia with the vowels. (Even though I'm not Dyslexic.) Example: 'thier'; instead of 'their' It's just a wee-bit annoying. Maybe, someone else can relate.

I do that too! I think about it correctly in my mind, but I type it wrong! And sometimes it looks ok even if I read it again, and when I realise that it's wrong, it;s too late to correct it! Welcome to mylot!

a pleasant day besweet, with regard to your discussion, having a typographical error when doing some typing job is a normal thing. as these errors are usually incur due to the wrong placing of the fingers over the keyboard. aside from that, there are times, your mind does not coincide on the beat of your pulse, as a result, your fingers do type a different letter than what your mind dictated. and this situation usually happens when you are in hurry on what you are doing. hence in your situation, perhaps, the positioning of your fingers over the keyboard must be place accordingly. so that you can able to hit the right key. however, what matters most is the thought. that whenever you are delivering a topic, it is still the thought that counts and not the typo error that has been incur.

Thank you airasheila! What you said is very important. Sometimes we might do somes mistakes while we are typing but the meaning of our comment is more important from a typo that we might have done. My fingers are probably in the wrong places, because I haven't seperated the keyboard accordingly and usually when I type I move my hands a lot on the keyboard. I have this image in my mind, that people who know how to type fast only move their fingers and they press the keys softly, I do exactly the opposite! :)

I really do think that I have made more than a few. Most likely when we get to the symbols on the top row, by the numbers, there is really just the time where the mistakes tend to come for me. Of course there are times where I just have those bad days to really just tend to really have a lot of problems. And really, I'm to the point where I can really type without even seeing the keyboard, it is on a shelf underneath my desk. There are times where I have typed on a keyboard with half of the letters missing right on it. It is really just something that really is going to frustrate me more often than not when I get a little too fast and I see a lot of mistakes. Some of them symbols, mostly transposition errors.

I also found out that i am getting many mistakes while typing. I know the spelling of each words but it becomes a mistake when i type them on my keyboard. Most of the times instead of typing 'of' i mostly type 'fo'. This is the one of the mistake which i usually does while typing.

That is very common for me as well! I type the letters in reversed order.. Trying to express my thoughts fast makes me slow at the end, because I do mistakes and then I need to go back and correct them! I hope I will get better with practice :)

I feel for you. I'm a fast typer myself. And I usually get spelling mistakes, wrong punctuation, and sometimes redundant phrases . But it's natural for fast typers. Unless they don't double check on what they're typing, then most probably they'll get negative responses of what they typed. Just to make sure you get positive feedback on your response, always preview and do recheck on your post/comment. To be more accurate, read your response.

Thank you for your comment! I usually understant it when I type the wrong letters right after typing them and I go back to correct my words! But sometimes I don't even see some of the mistakes when I read it again, my post looks fine and after I post it I am trying to find the edit option! haha

There are times I type too fast and for some reason the keyboard can't keep up with me. This means I might miss a word completely and the sentence would make no sense. The key to my success is to keep my fingernails short. They grow very fast and tend to get so long that I goof. I would prefer to type with my fingers and not my nails....lol Take care.

This usually happened to everyone when typing fast and without reviewing it after.

I haven't really seen a typo pattern in my English writing, because mostly I write in my mother tongue, Hungarian. In Hungarian, the letter "sz" I write az "zs" a lot, I know...

I always try to type words correctly but sometimes I'm in a hurry to express my thoughts before I forget them and I end up making a lot of mistakes. The mistakes I make often are usually related to spaces between the words like write two words without a space between them or put the space on the wrong place, for example "fo rexample" or "forexample",I also write I;m instead on I'm at least once an hour.I also have cases in which i know the word I've written is wrong but I can't tell what exactly is wrong with it's spelling...

I have this problem a lot! I really pride myself on my fast and accurate typing, but unfortunately speed decreases that accuracy. At my job I often have to write the word "live" in e-mails and for some reason my fingers are programmed to type "liver." I have no idea why because I NEVER have to type the word liver.
