many people believe it is wise to greet people whenever you meet them.is it always good.

Depends how you do it! Punjabi's in Pakistan tend to shake hands with everyone in the room even if it takes forever. God knows what they do when they visit a cinema! A polite nod is generally sufficient in my opinion.

Yeah, of course it is wise to greet people when you get face to face with the persons. It's polite to do it. That doesn't necessarily mean that you like them or you want to stay in touch with them.It's up to you!As long as you're nice to them, they will be nice to you.
